I think they need 2 centers next year and plan on neither of Mittelstadt or Cozens being ready to play a critical center position.
Botterill's biggest mark against is he had no veteran center support for Mittelstadt this year. Big mistake, and he cannot possibly make that mistake again heading into next year. - kingcong39

If the playoffs aren’t in the plans for next year, I could see them rolling with Mitts/Coz, or someone else on the roster at C.

What the (frank) is the point if the playoffs aren't in the plans AGAIN next year? If that is even remotely true, he needs to be fired now. |

He’s gone if he doesn’t make the playoffs next gear, probably gone by December if things are looking bleak by then is my guess.
No more excuses this offseason, wouldn’t mind another shot at the top 10 though with the talent that is coming out this year.
We have a pretty light schedule here coming up though so I wouldn’t be shocked to see us go on a run and in typical Buffaluck fashion pick 12th (which still is a great spot to be in but I’d love having a shot at one of the big 8) |

We can boil the start of next season to the following: it cannot be Groundhog Day again regarding the center position. If it is, he deserves to be let go. |

There are some good players coming up in the 2021 draft...I’m assuming.

JB, and I think Terry and Kim, are on board with the slow rebuild. They’re “doing it the right way”. And to them, that means no shortcuts, and a very long process fueled by boundless patience and low expectations. |

I discussed all that in my post. We didn’t need montour we needed a forward - Fattony1187
We didn’t need a defenseman when we traded for Montour?
Here was our defense before him:
McCabe-Risto
Dahlin-Bogo
Scandella-Beaulieu
Nelson
Hunwick
Dude, we needed Montour badly at the time
Risto, McCabe & Scandella all played poorly last year- to put it nicely
And we had no idea at the time we’d be able to get Jokiharju &/or Miller

call him up after the all star game
might be the spark we need - homiedclown
That’s not a bad idea
If Mitts ends up being the spark we need, great
If we don’t make a run, can always send him back down to the AHL for the playoffs there
Just put him with Skinner & MoJo
Give him a good chance to be successful |

Of course
The youngest Hughes brother should be a top5 pick, maybe #1 even
Here’s some names to keep an eye on if that’s your kinda thing

There ya go. All the reason you’d need to aim for the top of that draft. |

There’s always a reason to tank
Gotta try to win sometime
I’ve said it before...
the 2C we’re looking for is gonna be either Mitts or Cozens (or both)
We aren’t gonna become legit contenders until those guys grow into the really good players they’re projected to be
In the meantime,
i like that Botts is trying to bring in guys without spending major assets (for the most part) that could help us make the playoffs
Most of the guys he’s brought in haven’t been a hit yet... Berglund, Sobatka, Vesey, Sheary, etc...
But he’s got another shot at it this summer,
with almost all our bad contracts off the books
I know a lot of ppl will lose their sh!t even more if he can’t trade for a “2C”
But i think it’s unlikely...
And I’m actually ok with that
I don’t need us to rush to 8th at the expense of hurting us long term
Gotta keep our eye on the prize
And that’s a Cup, not a 1st round whipping
And let’s keep in mind all the kids that “should” be ready next year...
Mitts, Cozens, Asplund, seem like locks
Tage & Ruotsalainen are strong possibilities as well
Plus... Pilut on defense, and Borgen & Bryson ready for call up action
Yes, Botts has made mistakes
But i still think we’re moving in the right direction |

13,787 rushing yards
6,346 receiving yards
over 5,100 yards in kick returns
145 td's
and this guy is not in the pro football hall of fame
- homiedclown
Because it took him 11 years to get to 8225 yards with a 4.2 average in the NFL. The USFL does not count 1:1 with the NFL. And the YPC didn't get killed as he aged either, the first 4 years in the NFL he went 4.9, 4.3, 4.2, 3.7.
Edge had 12246 rushing yards, a YPC of 4.0, 3364 receiving yards, 91 total TDs in 148 games compared to 82 in 187 for Walker. |

Yeah. But the upside of finding out now (or earlier) is once the enthusiasm and emotion are extinguished, the numbness sets in and it’s just easier.
Jack’s still fun to watch. |

Um every rb back that has 13000+ rushing yds in the NFLthat is eligible for the HOF is in there.
I’m curious to who you’re speaking of?
My best guess is James. But he doesn’t have 145 td’s nor the return yds. |

If he gets it it’ll be a veterans committee pick years from now.
Brian Mitchell has 23,213 Yds (rush, rec, and returning) and he’s not getting in any time soon.
Hell James and Alexander(112 tds) is a ways from getting in. |

I think they are already too generous with letting people in, and they refuse to put Tasker in there because he was "special teams" which is also a joke.
Doesnt really matter to me when all is said and done though, all HoF's are a "good 'ol boys club" anyway. |

The fact it took TO as long as it did to get in is testament to that. He's top 5 all-time WR, easy, you could make an argument for #2; it's gross he wasn't first ballot. |
