Where's this Erik Haula is trash narrative coming from? I mean, he's not great, but he would definitely be a 2C here.
- TheSabresTaco

does it make the team better...? Yes , then you make the deal .... right?

Sorry, maybe "Lashing out" isn't the correct way to describe
I just used your own words from the previous comment. Perhaps belittling, disparaging or denigrating would have been better.

- adambuffalo

You taking that personally proved me right, because why would you read that and think I specifically meant YOU? Not everything is about you, guy.

Inferiority complex much?

I said he's trash and he is, people want anything just to make a trade. Why do that, make a deal to make an impact deal not another scrub player.

I am completely with you. People want middling players and think it will thrust us into the playoffs magically, it's getting to be rigoddamndiculous.

Could you describe the type of player you would classify as an acceptable 2C?
Age range?:
Average Pts or PPG?:
Contract Term Remaining?:
Contract AVV range?:
FO win %?:
Corsi For?:

Same question here.
What is an acceptable player profile to you for a 2C?

We keep talking about Bjugstad, when we should be talking about Haula as a low cost, in season trade option.

I won't get a hard on for the trade idea, but it makes a lot of sense.

Jesus Christ when does it end ? how many trash trades do people want, but yet they complain about Tim Murray. People are grasping at anything now thinkibng it will make a difference. You make trades to better the team for now and the future. God for bid you bring up a player that can actually help like Ryan Johansen ( for example) and folks say, "we can't take him and his big contract". Make a deal that is actually going to help.

He wants to deal Mccabe(or fill in the blank scrub) for Barkov is what it comes down to. Its not does it improve the roster its is the play a game changer pretty much.

Id say Haula is better than any option other than Larson at this point imo

How hard is it to figure out, we need a true number 2 center and that's what you trade for not these scrub players and giving up picks that everyone keeps complain about that we need.

Well, first of all, I've been shouting this into the abyss. Regardless of whether you think he'd help here, or even if he'd be an impact..

What evidence do you have that proclaims that he's trash? He's definitely injury prone, but he can play. And I've seen nothing to the contrary.

The one thing that the Canes need to consider is the pick they gave Vegas. It's conditional based on them resigning him or trading him. If they don't do either, then they don't owe Vegas a pick.
I haven't followed Haula enough to know what his value would be in a trade, but see he only played 15 games last year and missed time twice this year.
Carolina gave up a conditional 5th that they may not even give Vegas.

So injury prone is ok because he has points ? people wanted Murray hung and a really close to that with Botterill.

The only real way to get one of those at this point is to draft and develop one

So in the meantime you will hear the need for a 2C

Haula is a good stop gap, just because you say he is trash doesn't mean it's true.

Is he the perfect 2C? No

Is he much better than what we have? Yes

50 point pace center (in 82 games) has more d-zone/neutral zone starts than o-zone starts and is a positive corsi player.

He produces more than enough for his $2.75 million cap hit and plays a position of a great need on this team

here:

If I'm ranking ideas being thrown around here:

1. Bonino
2. Haula
3. Galchenyuk
4. A fart in the wind
5. Bjugstad

All low cost, in season trade ideas for players that can fill in at center. I have my doubts with 3 and 5, and 4 may be better than both.

My true target will always be Trocheck, but if the Panthers are winning, they won't let him go in season.

Well, people here have different standards of what 2C looks like production wise.
I'm honestly curious has you have taken a hard line approach, which is fine.
I'm just trying g to figure out you description.
If it ain't hard...then enlighten me.

Well I disagree with that. But I agree with you that trading for him now given his contract situation and the Sabres position in the standings doesn't make much sense.

I'd be after him in the summer though. The sabres will need to fill 4 middle 6 spots
