Unless Trocheck or Zibanijad falls into your laps, get yourself a short term 2C and move him around if Cozens is that great. Like Stripes said, depending on Mittelstadt or Cozens to be absolutely ready is insanely poor management.

hypothetical- the trade gets done, haula walks.....
what new player to fit the need can you get with a 2nd added to whatever. I think that extra pick can open a lot more doors.

The redwings obviously wouldnt though. No one trades a proven commodity straight up for one prospect
- jcragcrumple

Hey, you didn't ask for a fair trade offer. That's what I'd start the offer with. But I'm also not interested in trading him.

We keep talking about Bjugstad, when we should be talking about Haula as a low cost, in season trade option.

I won't get a hard on for the trade idea, but it makes a lot of sense.

- TheSabresTaco

The dude is shooting way over expectation, has issues with his coach, and a reoccurring knee issue.

He should never be thought of as anything more than a backup plan

So I know you're high on Trochek, what was your realistic offer for him?

Let's say it's draft day. Not today because they probably wont move him in season

There was some debate as to whether it would be enough, but if the Wings called and offered him for Cozens, 2019 unprotected 1st and UPL, do you say yes?
- jcragcrumple

I honestly laugh hysterically until they hang up that is absolutely ridiculous.

Try Mitts, a conditional first and Ullmark and I will even add McCabe.

Obligatory ROR response.

Zibanejad
Trocheck
Larkin
Hertl
Kadri

Just to name a few.

- BeadyEyedDouche

For the most part I like the list. Zibanejad and Larkin are both their respective teams #1C, so any trade would have a 1C value rather than 2C value for an asking price.
Trocheck I mentioned earlier and like the idea.
Kadri I would not want. Like Marchand, he definitely can play, I just don't like him and wouldn't want him as a Sabre.
Hertl is a name I don't believe I've seen mentioned here. I think that would be a great call. San Jose could use draft picks and some younger guys so maybe there's a deal to be made. They do have cap space too to work with.

I won't argue that he's having a great year outside of his shooting percentage, but again, I refer back to the 'low cost' thing. My preferences are much higher.

Would you trade Erod for Haula? I think it's a no brainer.

Should the benchmark be higher? God damn right it should.

I really like Montour. Don't think he should be traded for anything less than a premium upgrade.

Risto and a 2nd? (frank), I dunno, Teraveinen? I'm sure Bingo is gonna walk in here and take a poop.

He’s a healthy scratch because his play has finally dove back to earth

He’s slightly better than someone like Erod.

It’s just not worth a whole day on why we didn’t pursue him

And then Detroit laughs and hangs up. He had 73 in 76 last year. The starting point is Cozens and a high first to get them to answer

See, we can get along and engage each other 👍

Hertl is a great idea. They are stacked on D, no one wants Kane and they ain't getting younger.

Offer Mitts and a 1st, see what they counter with.

To address the 2C in the offseason (assuming no TDL trade for 1 this year), what strategy would you prefer for Botts to take?

A) short-term placeholder for a year or 2, allows Cozens and Mitts ample time to develop into the 2C. This falls into 2 sub categories:
i) older vet say 32+ who can still deliver ~50 pts, cost say $6.5m - 7.5m
ii) middle age player who us more a 2/3C Tweener, puts up 45sh pts, for $3.0- $4.0m

B) long-term, younger, core-complimentary player, capable of 65-75 pts, cost at say $6.0m - $7.0m; let the chips fall as they may for Mitts and Cozens...figure out the W2C as those guys emerge in 2 years, potentially trade the extra 2C at that point

Is daily griping about GMTM still permitted?
- PrinceChill

Crying all day everyday on a hockey chat about the gm, day in day out every post.

I was reading last night, I am not the only one to point this out in regards to crags.

He brings nothing to any discussion except the same exact point. Jbotts isn't doing his job.

Although, maybe he's following the "plan"
Build a winner long term in buffalo

What's the best part?

He has an erod Jersey, the worst player on the team.
He complained all summer about larssons- who is having a great year.
He complains for years about girgensons, who has our 5th or 6th highest goal total .

I asked him nicely, in the past.

Everyone is sick of his crying.

Do you have anything to add to the topic at hand regarding the potential 2C targets, or just more female doging about me?

Goddamn. I am living rent free in your head.
