Henrique would fit in perfectly here, that contract though makes we want to throw up.

I guess it would depend on what they would ultimately want in return.

I’d rather grab Travis Zajac.

Unless you could figure out a three way trade where another team(like Ottawa) eats a portion of Henrique’s deal (say 1.8).

The perfect guy imo is Getzlaf but he isn’t waiving to go anywhere from my knowledge.

I’d do Asplund, Okposo, 2nd rounder for Henrique.
- Pegullaville

Anaheim has an internal cap. I’d guess Okposo is a solid no go.

Speculation is the GMs agreed to a Zajac deal and he refused to waive

Trading Henrique for Okposo would save almost $15M in real dollars. Okposo’s cap hit is $200K more. That’s a huge win for Anaheim I’d think.

Not sure where you got 15 mil but after this season he’s owed $23.3 and Okposo is owed $14.

Okposo is also way less of a player.

That's why you would have to sweeten the deal. That's the big ?, how much sweetener does it take

Sorry for the absence folks, work and school are hard, should have something up soon.

Also, if you're interested in some info on Henrique, I listed him as a potential option in an article i wrote before starting here.

As someone else mentioned, Anaheim do operate with an internal cap and there is an opportunity to send Okposo the other way since his actual salary in the last two years of his deal drops to 4 mil. Anaheim could potentially save 9+ mil

Good read. A Henrique for Okposo swap with a small sweetner seems fair to both teams. The Ducks save a pile of cash while Buffalo gets their interim 2C. Bonino would be great but as your article points out, what exactly are the Preds going to do?

Well I disagree with that. But I agree with you that trading for him now given his contract situation and the Sabres position in the standings doesn't make much sense.

I'd be after him in the summer though. The sabres will need to fill 4 middle 6 spots

- jcragcrumple

Cozens, Mitts, Tage, Asplund, Routsalainen, Davidsson

Those guys all have a chance to make the roster
Who of them would u plug into our Middle6?

Ehlers was benched last night because he's not good at playing man to man defense in the Dzone.
Just saying.

I think none, they can make up a third of the bottom 6

He should be our 2C. He was drafted to be a C. It's actually unacceptable to me that they dont give him an extended look there. Time to see if he can produce away from Eichel.
- BeadyEyedDouche

I think they should at least take a look at him there

If it works, problems solved
If not, put him back at RW

I don’t see any reason why they shouldn’t try it

give up because he could not produce with Griffith and Pouliot playing 12 minutes a night

all jokes aside, pretty sure it's a lack of wheels issue

- homiedclown

Is Sam any slower than Larsson??
Tavares is far from fast

But even if speed is the issue,
why not try it anyways at this point?

Sam feeding Skinner sounds like it should work

Since we have 6 pages regarding how good people think Haula is. i'll let some in on a little secret.

Botterill is working on trying to get Adam Henrique

don't like it, don't hate it

true second line center

- homiedclown

What??
Henrique is on pace for 43pts
If we are trading for a guy with this type of production,
then he’s gotta have a shorter term left on his contract
There’s no need to be locked into a guy like that

I’d rather try and grab another high caliber winger like Ehlers than try and get a mediocre 2C in Henrique

He’s from Brantford Ontario, same with Montour. I pass it on my way to Buffalo. Could be a reason for waiving his NMC potentially
- Pegullaville

Hell, if we're talking Brantford boys, let's ring up Wayne and see what he's up to these days.

Cody Hodgson easily could've been on the team for the last 4 years of his deal, he would've retired the year after the buyout anyway, and now he wouldn't cost $800K against the cap for 3 more years.
