Plenty of things can go wrong I'm sick of us rushing prospects - gerbe75pts
Who have we rushed?? Mittelstadt?
Mitts had the upper hand since he was coming out of college. He could’ve stayed and played out his career and left the organization. Think jimmy vesey.
With college kids, sometimes there is an unwritten agreement that if they sign, they won’t be sent down to roch.
So wondering who else under botts has been rushed. Because based on your complaining. Dahlin should be in roch right now

C'mon.
They rushed Mitts, and an unwritten agreement should have conditions. Like, we will try for a generous period of time to enable you to adjust..1/2 season.
They followed suit from St Louis in rushing Tage, again give 1/4 to 1/2 of a season, especially for a guy who previously had 1/2 of a season.
It was very, very clear after 10 games that these guys both needed extended time to mature and build their game. Giving 1/4 to 1/2 a season was plenty.
Better to go down, play major minutes, play in all situations, build your game and work on being a complete player.

Yes, because he was coming from college. He had the upper hand. He could easy said Frank you Sabres. I’m staying in school
That’s the way it works. Adam fox will the the hurricanes couldn’t promise top 6 NHL minutes. So he stayed in college.
Heck I’m sure Eichel said that to the Sabres too. NHL or I’m going back to college
Vesey did it. Kevin Hayes did it The list of college players staying and going where ever. It happens

Blame the nhl process. Not botts. - Sabretooth9
Not arguing if it happens.
You forgot Caleterson (sp?), the goalie...he was a major consideration why Sabres made promises.
But let's be smart, it wasn't unconditional, if it was then of course you blame Botts.
They reacted way, way too slowly and it has negatively impacted both players...moving down the lineup, to eventually 4th line, then sitting multiple games.
Dumb, dumb, and dumb.

The mistake above was compounded by not getting quality veteran center or wing depth to support Mittelstadt and Thompson fully. Instead, they relied on them as if they were nearly locks. Big time failure.

I agree with this.
Berglund at a 4 mill cap hit (give or take) was supposed to be that guy for last year and this year. It failed obviously then botts didn’t trade for anyone.
