I'm also from the school of thought that you need good veterans around your young players to help them grow. This being said, they also need to be good enough to help the team and not prevent better players to join in.

Thompson was looking pretty good early on this year but what has he done lately to justify bringing him back ahead of a guy doing very well in the AHL like Evans? Or Poehling?

I'm not saying he HAS to go, but I'm not sure he's that important either.

I can see Tatar being moved because of what could come back, maybe Petry for the same reason.

I think there no chance he trades Domi and or Drouin, GM dont like trading guys they acquired when they are still fairly young.

For Kovy, the way he has been playing, to me the line is : for a 2nd yes, for a 3rd I rather keep him if he express he willing to sign for another year at like 2M...I mean we are paying Weal 1.4...

Weal has 8 points in 40 games, Kovy has 8 points in 8 games.
if Weal makes 1.4M, expect Kovy to sign for a lot more than 2M
trade his ass. and Weal too btw.

Well Lekhonen is a third liner and apparently he doesn't have to score, imagine the 4th line

He's on pace for 18 goals.

Not bad at all if you ask me.

The goals.... they are here Fred.

Thompson is a great vet but he goes UFA. Same as Scandella, Kovalchuk and prolly Cousins.
Oh and Weise, Kinkaid ans peca. Thanks god.

They have to sell much as they can for next year draft and summer.

if they could just get more minutes you'd see you're s(h)itting on a gretzky/kurri type of combo there.

I remember that somebody posted in here when he learned that Kovachuk took Cousins spot on the first line and he was mad about it.

So funny.
