It always amuses me Leafs are supposed to pay more in trades than any other team. Dreger basically laughed at the idea of Kapanen for Gorgiev and said Leafs have to pay much more. WTF? Would he ever say that about the Panthers in a trade for a backup?
He needs to go back to talking about offersheets... |

I don't live right in the city of Toronto but I am happy that I live close by.
It is a pretty awesome city when you compare it to others in NA. I do also really like Montreal. - Santo_44
Montreal is great to visit but hell to live in. I was born there I would never go back.
Toronto is far superior to live in.
Quebec's politics have crippled Montreal. It should be what Toronto is today. Everyday on the news it' s politics 24/7 and ways to kick English people out. |

I find the people that live in Montreal are very nice. People surrounding it I have had some pretty bad experiences with.....but in Montreal I have no issues. The layout is nice.
The traffic is horrible but so is Toronto. |

It's just the idea that Montreal hasn't grown it's regressed. They had it all and handed it to Toronto.
So many English Montrealers have moved away. They chase away their most talented people. |

If Leafs asked for Georgiev and B Lemieux....and said Matthews, Marner, Tavarez, Nylander, Kapanen, Sandin, Johansson cannot be in the package going back. But, maybe some of our garbage...well....ain't no deal getting done. You gotta GIVE to GET. And if Nylander, Kapanen and Johansson are among your "untouchales"...Leafs will not be getting much from ANY team out there. Because, what else do the Leafs have that any other team even wants????....Bracco???/...I mean, c'mon.... - hawk35
If the Leafs are getting Georgiev and Lemieux, then yes, they will have to part with one of Johnsson/Kerfoot/Kapanen. |

If you visit Winnipeg and tell them you are from Toronto they will advise why Winnipeg is a better city. - RogerRoeper
I always love this about Vancouverites.
Ask any Torontonian what they think of Vancouver: great city, gorgeous views, love the beaches, so much to do just outside the city, etc.
Ask any Vancouverite what Torontonians think of Vancouver: bunch of elitist arseholes! They think they are better than us! Waaaaaa!
Jesus, just relax. Your inferiority complex is showing. |

Yeah, Vancouver is the worst, but it exists so many places. I once had a cab driver ask me how I could live in Toronto when I visited Calgary and got him to admit he's never been there. There are Western Canadians who think Toronto is some dirty, dangerous hell-hole because bumholes tell them that.
Western media is to blame for it a lot. They really keep that hate going strong. You're right though, it looks pathetic and like a complexe. Heck, even on the blogs here when the Leafs visit Western teams there are shots at the Leafs by the writers in the blog titles. LOL |

I met a few Vancouverites on vacation a few years ago. i straight up asked them why they hate us and they said it came down to sports. They are jealous we get the Jays and Raptors. And they hate the Leafs media.
I love Vancouver until they know where I am from You have the nice beaches and Skiing and we have the sports...Do you want to trade?
edit: I have also met quite a few people from BC who don't like Vancouverites |

My wife visited her university BFF in Alberta about 18 years ago. She was a party where guys were telling her Toronto was unliveable - the guy had a friend who couldn't find an apartment for less than $5,000 a month.
My wife: "My husband and I are renting a 3-bedroom house, with garage for $1700 a month - you can walk to Eglinton subway station."
Guy: "You can't get an apartment in Toronto for less than $5,000 a month..." |

It's really weird. I will never speak bad about a city unless I go there. Some must be rather surprised when they do visit Toronto. It's incredibly clean and safe, with so much to do. |

Beeyotch, please.
Boston sucks.
Unless you like restaurants and sports and bars and history and shopping and the ocean and beaches and really cool places within a 2 hour radius and fresh seafood and cool neighbourhoods and other stuff.

A lot of this is related to the fact that the only real news anyone out here ever gets about Toronto is either about sports, crime, the Ford bros. or how expensive everything is. |

I think a big thing I like about being here is being so central.
Try flying to the Caribbean from Vancouver...It is hell

The weird thing about Toronto is it's top 10 in the world for places to live, but it's way down the list for places to visit.
It takes about 3 months for you to really appreciate how well it works.
As Sir Peter Ustinov famously said:
"Toronto is kind of New York operated by the Swiss." |

Montreal is alot of fun.
It's a mess to drive around because of all the construction sites but it's a great place to be. |

Toronto is slowly freeing itself of its tight-arse, religious roots.
In my lifetime, you couldn't buy a drink on Sunday.
You couldn't shop on Sunday.
You couldn't touch a bottle of alcohol before purchasing it. You couldn't even look at it.
Hell, there were still neighbourhoods in Toronto that were completely dry until the late 1990s. |

it's true, though.
Like, that's the news. Not many people have reason to actually visit Toronto, so they go south or west instead and develop an image of the city in their heads based on what they've heard. |
