I think a big thing I like about being here is being so central.

Dubas to not recognize that the team is flawed - mikeinbuffalo
you shoosh. the only flaws on this team were babs and freddy and they’re all out of babs👍🏿
just trade freddy at the tdl for some more smallish wingers, sit back and plan the parade route 👍 |

Toronto is slowly freeing itself of its tight-arse, religious roots.
In my lifetime, you couldn't buy a drink on Sunday.
You couldn't shop on Sunday.
You couldn't touch a bottle of alcohol before purchasing it. You couldn't even look at it.
Hell, there were still neighbourhoods in Toronto that were completely dry until the late 1990s. - Atomic Wedgie Sounds familiar to here.
My dad used to deliver pizzas when he was young and would load his trunk with beer, cigarettes, diapers, dog food you name it. Then people would just order a pizza if they needed anything and he'd swing through and sell them whatever they wanted

Hawaii is cool.
But It is one place. Central America is great, Caribbean is awesome, and Europe is just close enough to not be a pain in the ass to get to. |

you don't gotta tell me. I grew up in Saskatchewan. I know allll about those things.
I remember a couple years ago when Against Me! with their trans woman singer was playing a bar in Regina on a Sunday night and i thought "boy, things are certainly different here than they were 20 years ago." |

what i learned today.
the only good place in the world to live is toronto.
every other place is an unlivable dump with wretched people.
alll media sucks, lies and refuses to tell the truth. except for toronto media.
toronto has all the bestest hockey players (except their goalchie). 16-7-4 proves this.
16 wins must mean they won the stanley cup. another 16 wins down the stretch and it'll be back to back cups...whooooooo! |

It's bad enough from Sask.
Most folks just go to Vegas/Arizona/Mexico because going straight south is a lot faster and cheaper than trying to get to an island. |

If the Leafs are getting Georgiev and Lemieux, then yes, they will have to part with one of Johnsson/Kerfoot/Kapanen. - Steven_Seagull
Thats all I was saying....when someone questioned that Lemieux would even play with the Leafs. He would fit on the 2nd or 3rd line perfectly....and likely one of those 3 would be moved in the deal to make that fit an easy one.
And not because Lemieux is BETTER in many ways than either of these 3, but Toronto has many of the Nylander, Kapanen, Johansson types.....Lemieux adds a different and needed element.
Look.
I am just spit-balling ideas because I think the leafs are close, but if they stay as constructed now I see them still being able to make the playoffs, but cannot see them getting past Boston and Tampa or Caps, or Blues...in order to win a Cup. Actually I would be surprised if they got past the 2nd round.
They may prove me wrong. And by all means go at it with what you got. But, they have an overabundance of the same type of forwards. Very offensively gifted, but many not so gritty, or defensively responsible. I simply think AS A TEAM, they would be better by trading one or two of Nylander, kapanen, Johansson (as examples) and bringing in a BLemieux TYPE, maybe a D-man with some bite, upgrade backup goalie. To add a gritty forward, a D-man and a 2nd goalie will cost some assets. And no doubt some of the fanbase favorites like the guys I mentioned might have to be shipped out.
If not willing to parttwith them. Then accept what you have, hope the injured come back in A+ shape and make your run. But, I just don't think it is enough.
And, as I said earlier. Maybe it doesn't matter because Dubas (and seems many of fanbase on here) doesn't see the value of the gritty, grinding type player and wants more and more skilled guys all over the line-up. And if that's the case, he will try to upgrade the back-up....maybe add a 5-6 D-man for depth and be done. Actually, that is probably EXACTLY what he will do. But, time will tell.
Super skilled team. Get some "Nasty" in there, and look out....

I was back in Rockport last summer - first time since 2000.
Google says they lifted the alcohol sales ban in 2006, but there still isn't a great place to go for a drink. Everything seems to be tied to a restaurant.
Which is pretty funny, considering what an absolute tourist dream the place is. |

Toronto is starting to learn from Montreal a bit...It is a pretty fun place.
What I hear from people visiting from outside Ontario is that it is easy to be social and make friends. Most people in Ontario move around.
In Vancouver a lot of the people there grew up in Vancouver. |

That's the problem in Canada. It's so expensive to fly across country that people just go down south for much cheaper with everything included. We don't see the beauty of our country. |
