Magnum P.I was terrible..

Also, so is Ek's rumour Dillon + for Kapanen..

It better be a big +

Dillon, Dell and Melker Karlsson for Kapanen maybe?

The plus would be a first rounder which San Jose gifted to Ottawa this year.

I absolutely loved it in high school.

Ive seen a couple of episodes in recent years - good lord, it's bad.

Although, "Hey Ivan, did you see the sun rise?" was pretty franking awesome.

Listen, all 80s TV is awful now. Airwolf, Magnum, Simon and Simon, The A-Team, but it was GOLD then.

The crap on TV now is going to feel preachy, overbearing or just simply unnecessary in 40 years, too.

Pretty sad to see the narrative has changed from talking about can the Leafs win the cup, to, it will be a real tough task to get a wildcard. Such a shame.

Meanwhile the Raps get massive injuries to their starters, lose one of the best players in the world and are still playing for 2nd overall in the east only 2 games off their pace of last year.

Go Raptors.

I think it's because Freidman said in his 31 thoughts that the Leafs will move Kapanen if it makes them better now and in the future.

Safe to assume that EK follows Friedman?

His latest 31 thoughts just came out - he says he thinks the Leafs will only move Kapanen if it is for something big.

Does that mean the cross-over episodes of Magnum and Simon & Simon are twice as bad?

Some might say, the Raptors are the Islanders of the NBA.

And it only took the Raptors 5 or 6 seasons to win after they became decent

They were winning rounds and losing to a guy who made the NBA finals 7 years in a row. Finishing on top or second in their Div. Leafs are moving from third in their div to now lucky just to get in.

ignoring the huge difference between Basketball and Hockey (skill vs luck in results etc). There is no perfect formula to get to the ultimate goal. The crying and sadness of a segment of the fans about the leafs is something to watch

what a great run the leafs had under keefe. but now there's 33 games remaining and the leafs are not even holding on to a playoff spot. the glaring need for about 2.5 years has been defensively and overall team toughness, is this reminding anyone about the kessel era yet? and in this time instead of making the necessary improvements the leafs made their defense worse on top of firing their coach. now the new coach has the team sitting out of a playoff spot at the all star break even after an excellent run.

dubas has the team cap maxed out.
dubas decided to fire babcok for his guy sheldon keefe.
dubas got rid of any and all players with any grit or defensive ability leading to the 7th worst pk% and 4th highest goals against in the league.
dubas has not addressed his weak defense. why does he keep re-signing marincin?
dubas decided to pay 3 players 11 million dollars per season.
dubas let nylander miss half a season before signing him.
dubas waived curtis mcelhinney because he thought garret sparks was going to take over the backup role without an issue and the leafs haven't had a solid backup since.

it's fairly obvious at this point that the leafs are not going to win the stanley cup this season and so that means, the leafs are now down to the final 4 years of auston matthews contract and no cap space to make significant moves in the areas that require upgrades until ceci and barrie are off the books. unless dubas can start to fall out of love with some of his star offensive young players and realize that he might have to move one of them to shore up different areas of the team before the leafs become the edmonton oilers of the last decade.

The media narrative is driven by what's happening right now. The Leafs win three in a row and it's back to celebrations and love. The Leafs go on a week-long break, and the schedule aligns, and they are 3 points out. They'd have 47 points and be 13 points out if they had continued to play at the same pace under Babcock.

There's 33 games to go. If the Leafs play at their current pace (which considers the 9-10-3 start under Babcock), they're in line for about a 96pt finish which is pretty tight. If the Leafs play at the pace established under Keefe for the 27 games he's been on the bench, that's a 100pt finish.

They were 6pts off pace when Babcock was fired. Keefe righting the ship to a 102 / 104pt team still means those missing 6pts can play havoc.

Hey, great post!

But instead of putting up a wall of text, maybe you could just say that under Keefe, the Leafs had the best winning percentage in the NHL, until they lost their top two defencemen to injury.

But seriously, great post.

You're not butthurt at all.

Say hi to Komisaurus Rex for me, mmmmmkay?

looking at the raptors roster it's a wonder how they even won the championship last season with kawhi, now they don't have him and they are still winning games with this roster.
