Trotz hasn't won jack poop outside of Washington.

What he's done is develop a system that allows a cheap team or one lacking in talent to stay competitive (as long as goaltending holds) during the regular season, and then burn out come playoff time.

15 years as a head coach in Nashville. 19 playoff games won.

Lou Lamoriello last won a Stanley Cup 17 years ago. There are like 5 guys left in the entire league who were around the last time he won a cup.

Got anymore " But Whats " to qualify ... Hasn't won outside of Caps winning the cup oh well... let's just throw that out then...

as long as goaltending holds... Just like every cup winner...

Unreal...

Trotz has been a head coach for what, 22 or so years, and has 1 Cup.

So what?

Keefe has been a head coach for 27 games already, he hasn't won anything yet.

The media narrative is driven by what's happening right now. The Leafs win three in a row and it's back to celebrations and love. The Leafs go on a week-long break, and the schedule aligns, and they are 3 points out. They'd have 47 points and be 13 points out if they had continued to play at the same pace under Babcock.

There's 33 games to go. If the Leafs play at their current pace (which considers the 9-10-3 start under Babcock), they're in line for about a 96pt finish which is pretty tight. If the Leafs play at the pace established under Keefe for the 27 games he's been on the bench, that's a 100pt finish.

They were 6pts off pace when Babcock was fired. Keefe righting the ship to a 102 / 104pt team still means those missing 6pts can play havoc.

Not sure why we keep blaming Babcock, how about we talk about the terrible scheduling and the loss of some or our top end players....not sure Babs changed much after 106 and 100 point seasons, he was a bum hole but I wouldn’t say he’s to blame for the season so far. JMO

PLUS, we’re going to make the playoffs and win the 1st round this year ( just like I said last year )

21 years.

59 playoff games won, 16 of those in one season.

Was given an uber-talented team in Washington, won a cup, and now it's back to what it was in Nashville. good, not great regular seasons with stellar goaltending and disappointing playoff results because the team itself just isn't good enough.

Sounds like Erik Haula might be on the way out. Apparently Brind'amour isn't a fan of the way he's been going about his business and the Canes are looking to sell high on him.

Listen, all 80s TV is awful now. Airwolf, Magnum, Simon and Simon, The A-Team, but it was GOLD then.

The crap on TV now is going to feel preachy, overbearing or just simply unnecessary in 40 years, too.

He cannot.

Mike Russo was speculating that he might be part of a swap that would bring Eric Staal and a defenseman from Minnesota to Carolina.

But he wins... everywhere he goes with that system... even after losing his best player for nothing. It just find that a sign of a really good coach...

And I'd have to thing that Martin and Leo wouldn't look half bad in Leaf blue right about now on the 4th line

Quick guy. Was a plugger for a few years in Minnesota. Went to Vegas in the expansion draft and blew up for 55 points, then had his knee exploded the next year.

Has 19 points in 30 games for the Canes this season.
