You mean those same Canucks that are sitting ahead of our overpaid greatest show on ice?

There is no question, as I think we have enough hindsight now to say that this group was not going to succeed under Babcock.

Unfortunately, some things have not changed under Keefe.

There really is no excuse, not even injuries, for this core to be where they are. They aren't rookies anymore. There is a lot of talent in the lineup.

They wilt too often when the going gets tough or something doesn't go their way.
Decent hockey players make horrible mistakes all over the ice way too often. They don't seem to care about defense. In fact there are times they don't look like they care much at all.

On the other hand, I have seen a LOT of games this year where they deserved a better fate. I believe you make your own luck, but it sure seems like they aren't getting much most nights.

The goaltending has been a bigger problem than most people are willing to admit. Being awesome for 5 games does not makeup for being poor in the rest. Bad goaltending has a way of making the entire team look bad.

If there are two things I think they need to improve it would goaltending, and simply, more experience.

Obviously repeated losses in the playoffs have taught this group nothing. Perhaps what we need is to miss the playoffs.

If the core players are the problem then the Leafs should just strip it down and start over again. Can’t win with these guys, just like with Kessel and Phaneuf. Tank and rebuild again and again...

There's 35 games left and the standings are tighter than Steely Dan's bumhole.

Gotta love the doom and gloom crowd showing back up to scream and yell the same tired rhetoric.

Sometimes you have to just step away from the ledge sit your arse down, have a cold one, and let the GM do what he will, sit and watch it play out.

Standings are tight there are 35 games left and its going to be a fight to get to the playoffs for many teams, Leafs included. Once there though, anything can and does happen so seeding counts for crap anyways. Always has.

Sheeesh guys pop some valium and chill already.

Having 6 Muzzin types won't matter if the glory boys are too entitled and lazy to backcheck or fight through a check.

Since keefe took over, matthews has been a force in all 3 zones. Also doesnt help marincin, barrie dermott and ceci cant seem to handle the puck in their own zone. But again to me, matthews has stepped up...tavares, marner and eveeyone else besides enqval and hyman not so much.
