I know, and I think he's right it does take time.. I just don't see him doing it by Saturday.. Maybe by Feb 10th.
- PatC80

Again past moves suggest he wouldn’t wait until Feb.10th...

After the last few weeks going into Nashville with a fresh face and Muzzin returning would energize this group.

That back end doesn’t have too much confidence and neither does Freddy.

under babcock:

freddy, 17 starts: 9-5-3
backups, 6 starts: 0-6-1

under keefe:

freddy, 22 starts: 13-4-3
backup, 4 starts: 3-3-0

thing is, crutch took the losses in edmonton & florida; freddy's record would be 13-6-3 if he took those loses. not that much better than under babs. our backup goaltending sank us early in the season.

keefe has managed to get 3 wins in 3 starts with crutch; but there's not much water left in that well. crutch still sucks and won't keep winning games for us.

dubas needs to improve the backup position. at least a point a game from our backup in 8-10 starts and another ~13 wins from freddy should get us in.

but we can't keep throwing games away with crutch. margins are razor thin.

Have to hope that Dubas doesn't think Hutch has gotten better now that he has 3 wins.. We definitely need an upgrade on Hutchinson.

I don't think he does something before Saturday, but I do think he will make a move at least 2 weeks before the deadline. Can't be happy being in 10th place in the East
- PatC80

If he was looking at Georgiev from the Rangers, he should try a package that would also send Brandon Lemieux the Leafs way. He is the type of guy can play up and down your lineup, supply some grit and add an element the Leafs could certainly use. But, he is also the type of player that doesn't fit the Dubas philosophy so not likely Kyle even looking for that TYPE of player. Probably lean more to DeAngelo or somebody...

The Jets were 20-11-2 before Svechnikov dunked on them.

They're 5-10-2 since then.

I'd be shocked if Dubas does not get a goalie. Not convinced they will get another D with Rielly and Muzzin coming back

I think if the Leafs win both games against Nash and Dal, I think he waits a bit longer. If they lose both, or play poorly, I think he'll make a move sooner..

Their next two games will tell us a lot.

If someone trades for Georgiev they are restarting the market for backups with potential.

I hope Dubas doesn't do it.

Jets were winning with smoke and mirrors. It won't work over a full season.

You know how people say Leafs D is horrible? Jets is on another level of bad. Halebuck was making-up for it with Vezina type goaltending earlier. that has stopped.
They will not make the playoffs and Brian Burke just said they are the best Canadian team.

Lemieux would be a great addition to our team..
Why not go for all 3?

Georgiev, Lemieux and DeAngelo for Johnsson, Liljegren, Bracco and Hutchinson

You're right. We need to add to the deal. Marner, Sandin and a 1st for Georgiev.. It's closer in value..

Would Lemieux even crack the Leafs lineup? It's fine to add "Grit", but they have to play enough and be good to matter.

Jets were riding Hellebuyck hard. It will catch up to them. Their defense is too weak to survive a whole season.. Leafs fans know this

Idk man.

The D group does not look promising without Muzzin/Rielly(surprise, surprise)

Muzzin will be back and will probably not be himself out of the gate much like Johnnson.

They don't have time to sit on their hands. It is that time of year again when players are available to be traded for. All you have to do it pull the trigger on a deal.

I doubt Dubas waits.

Oh yeah. I just found it a funny coincidence.

They don't have an NHL calibre defense and it's killing them at both ends of the ice.

It's just funny the Jets are viewed as a contender with a worse D and relying on their goalie more than the Leafs.

since Keefe the Leafs are playing at the 4th best point percentage in the league (.673%) while receiving .901 goaltending.

But it's all a disaster!!!

Is it sad that Ceci is better than 3 of their d....Maybe even Kulikov too

I think he would, he's a LW. I think he'd replace Johnsson as we would need to include him in the deal

And jets fans still to this day mock the Leafs D. it's unbelievable

Will the national media ever say anything negative about the Jets?

No need to use those players in a deal for a backup.

Plenty of decent UFA rental backups that can be had. Trade for one and hope to sign that Russian from the KHL. Use a Kap/Johnnson for a d with term.

Apparently the Rangers want a forward that can play now.

You said they would want picks and prospects, you lied to me

- Santo_44

imho Rangers should sell at the tdl, focus on high picks/ good prospects/ young middle6 players. They're not gonna be able to contend before the 21/22 season - too many $$ tied up in bad contracts next season.

Jonsson is pretty valuable. I wouldn't deal him for a backup G. Good contract, still young and productive.

I just don't think they want to waste seasons of Panarin which is fair.

I think they are going to want to compete for a playoff spot next year.

NY has always been a desirable place to play for UFA's....maybe they have eyes on a couple?
