Would Lemieux even crack the Leafs lineup? It's fine to add "Grit", but they have to play enough and be good to matter.
- RogerRoeper

Sure would, cuz johannson or Nylander or Kapanen would have to be part of the package going the other way....

Is it sad that Ceci is better than 3 of their d....Maybe even Kulikov too
- Santo_44

I honestly feel bad for Maurice.

Asked about the slow start last night: "There was no (frank)ing slow start. We played as good in the first as we did in the second as we did in the third."

The Jets managed 17 shots last night.

Just because the NYR want them to be doesn't mean they have to be.

a backup has never been traded for that much value...It would be a first time that is for sure.

And jets fans still to this day mock the Leafs D. it's unbelievable

Will the national media ever say anything negative about the Jets?

- RogerRoeper

Nope.

Not worth the hassle of getting fried on social media for being "an elite Toronto bumhole who looks down on anything that isn't in the shadow of the CN Tower."

It's just much easier to say nice things about them.

I like the Jets too.

It is tough to get players to want to play there...

I wonder if they want Ceci?

I just don't think they want to waste seasons of Panarin which is fair.

I think they are going to want to compete for a playoff spot next year.

NY has always been a desirable place to play for UFA's....maybe they have eyes on a couple?

- Santo_44

agreed that they're gonna fight for a playoff spot next season, but contend... - very unlikely imo.

What are we thinking lowest point total that gets you into a playoff? 98 points for a wildcard?

Leafs need 41 points in the last 33 games.

Seems attainable to be honest.

Jonsson is pretty valuable. I wouldn't deal him for a backup G. Good contract, still young and productive.
- RogerRoeper

Gorgyev is not doing himself any favours latley, but trading AJ for a goalie that can play 25 or more games and potentially take over as starter is worth close to AJ

He has a better GSAA, sv% and quality start % than Andersen

The media has kissed the Jets asses since they came back into the NHL. They won't even point out any issues with that D.

They are better than teams that have passed them. They'll make it.

IMO, Freddy will get red-hot soon. That'll make a big difference. then we'll get to hear he's the saviour and "Carrying" the team.

If Leafs asked for Georgiev and B Lemieux....and said Matthews, Marner, Tavarez, Nylander, Kapanen, Sandin, Johansson cannot be in the package going back. But, maybe some of our garbage...well....ain't no deal getting done. You gotta GIVE to GET. And if Nylander, Kapanen and Johansson are among your "untouchales"...Leafs will not be getting much from ANY team out there. Because, what else do the Leafs have that any other team even wants????....Bracco???/...I mean, c'mon....

Assuming FLA, CBJ, NYI, CAR, PHI don't win anymore games, I think we'll be ok..

It's a hell hole and their residents think they are better than Toronto.

Their crime rate is quite disturbing in addition to being a wasteland.

Johnsson and Kap are not untouchables.. I like both, but if they can get us a D-man or a good goalie, I'm on board with trading one, or both

Are you kidding? Leafs have a ton of assets. Their organizational depth is among the best.

Leafs are not moving a 23 year-old forward who was a top 10 pick and has never scored less than 61 points in a full year, on pace for 30/70 this year on a good contract for a backup. Rangers will not get that package from any team.

The crazy hysteria over Nylander last year has led him to become criminally underrated.

Grebeur was traded for a 2nd and a salary dump(Orpik)

Talbot was traded for a 2nd and a 3rd

Andersen(who played in twice as many games and was a starter) was traded for a 1st and a 2nd.

NYR can ask for whatever they want. History suggest they are asking way above his value.

I don't live right in the city of Toronto but I am happy that I live close by.

It is a pretty awesome city when you compare it to others in NA. I do also really like Montreal.
