This. As many posters say, “down” year for Coots is judged by comparison to his own super high standard. He was still good regardless. I actually think it’s great that we think Selke level performance is the norm for Coots. It shows just how special he is.

After all of his anti-Flyers remarks, i.e. "It's not a rivalry because the Flyers can't compete with them," I hope he felt super uncomfortable and awkward.

I actually didn't know who he was for most of the game. i guess I didn't notice if they flashed his name. someone on twitter told me who he was. my first thought was oh, that is why he said they flyers won't make the playoffs.

Mildly surprising: #2 Pick Ginning doesn’t make the list despite being good enough to captain the Swedish WJC team.

Can possibly make the team out of camp next year: Frost and Friedman, no surprise there. Rubtsov and Kase, bottom six mix. Allison and Laczynski, assuming they get signed and stay healthy. The talent is apparently there.

Bottom line. Lots of organizational depth with the prospects. Star prospects? Not so much.

to be fair most of the higher end "prospects" are on the team and its too early to really gauge others like Frost, York, etc yet.

Honestly when I look at the truly only untouchable, at least for me, players on this team its a small list with Coots at the top.
