I think a better discussion would be the status off all 1st round picks made by the habs since Carey Price 15 years ago. How many are in the NHL making an impact? I don't see why habs fans that want to rebuild have any trust in the current group. Lets trade away 26 year old nhl guys so we can roll the dice and draft Jarred Tinordi or Louis Leblanc? You have to have the proper drafting and development staff in place before you are going to go down that road. Habs are a joke in that department. |

That is the source of all the problems ... until Molson decides to clean up the second floor I have no illusions on when we'll be making the playoffs again.
PS: Empty stands would be a nice memo from fans to Mr. Molson. |

Who cares about the playoffs? This team is so far away from being a cup contender. I don't want to see them get in and get swept by Washington in the first round. What does that accomplish? Another few million dollars in Molsons pocket from the home game revenue? |

The team he inherited from a fired GM did better than the team he built.

Not if you keep screwing up ever draft pick you make. Like take kotkeniemi for example. Why was he, and why is he still playing in the NHL? he should of been in finland the last 2 years playing top line minutes. Are the abs significantly better with him in the lineup? All its doing is messing up his development. |

in a league where more than half the teams make the playoffs, anyone knows what are the odds of missing the playoffs 4 times out of 5?
+/- 5%
that's your score MB. 5%. |

I wonder if they'll change the playoff format with Seattle's arrival, to let more teams in for each conference. |

Its on more then just the GM. Like who promoted Trevor Timmins? Hey Trevor, great job drafting Nikita Sherbak and Mickeal Mccarron, that worked out well, you can now be our assistant GM. |

Maybe Joel is not the player devloppement genius we hoped he would be.
Also Kinkaid and Lindgren have combined for more game than Primeau |

While I agree that a 1st round exit sucks, playoff experience does matter for the younger guys, even if they lose, imo.
Also, if there were a MTL-WAS series the habs might lose but they would probably give them a good run for their money. |

I doubt it, it will just make the east and west even. There is talk about play in games between 4 wild card teams. But at that point you would have 10 out of 16 teams in each conference make the playoffs essentially. |

If the habs won 1 game vs washington if both were at full health, I would be amazed. They are putting out ovechkin kuznetsov and wilson and who are we putting over the boards to counter that? Phil Danault? Its not even a contest. |
