Look at Teams at the bottom who are looking to make a deal. . .

Make a deal for Josh Manson

Manson is a right handed D who isnt scared to lay a hit, hes young and hes signed for another 2 years at 4.1 million. . .

Make a deal for Alexandar Georgiev and Chris Kreider

It may cost but Georgiev whould be amazing behind Freddy and give the Leafs a future Number 1 if Freddy got too expensive. Kreider is fast and gritty and can play the left side I am pretty sure. We would obviously have to make room for him going forward after this year but if they could agree to an extension that can fit with what the Leafs can free up than it would be amazing.

Now all that being said, who would we lose and would it be worth it?

I think a team that looks like this going forward would be great a little bit more even across the board. . .

Hynman Matthews Marner
Kreider Tavares Nylander
Kerfoot Engvall Kapanen
Timashov Gautier Spezza

Reilly Manson
Dermont Muzzin
Sandin Holl

Anderson
Georgiev

But will never happen. . .

They want a RD with Term. Sabres send them one of Colin Miller. Risto or Montour for Kapanen with some extras to balance out.

The name my source's tell me being linked to Philly is Tyler Toffoli. He has about the same cap hit as Ghost, he is much much younger than Getzlaf and he is a UFA at the end of the season, the Flyers can either resign him or let him walk.
Makes a lot more sence than trading for an almost 35 year old declining Getzlaf who has one more season left at 8.25 mill.

It would be pretty funny if Montreal traded Kovalchuk back to LA.

1. Manson will be 29 years old at the start of next season - I wouldn't call that "young." I do like him though and he'd be welcome addition to the team. Imagine him and Muzzin paired up?

2. Didn't Kreider say he wouldn't play for any Canadian team?

Considering Kovy had to take a 2-way contract to get a deal in Montreal, I doubt anyone has any interest. A 1-way for 700k would have got it done a month ago.

Hey Bingo, what ever happened to Jake Bean? Is he showing promise? Maybe enough for a call up?

The Flyers do not need another center. Ghost for Kap.

The Leafs need to stop making average trades and go all out for a star D-Man. With the right coaching, the forwards will flourish.

Look at the past few Stanley Cup Teams.

Toronto has the FWD group to match, but D? Always short.

This would fit great.... doesn't address the gap on the right side, but the Leafs D is still worrisome to look at.

If you're looking to turn the puck over a lot more, Josh Manson is your man this season. The thundering hits had to be replaced by something, I guess.

I think he did but do you think he changes his mind if he is going to be playing with Matthews?
