He’s a 1-1.5 million dollar defenceman. He got his money by tricking people but he won’t be getting overpaid anytime soon. - bryant
That's funny. I was wondering that earlier today.
What is Ceci's value going to be in Free Agency? Will some team offer him $2.5m?
Regardless, I hope we can do better. Obviously, if they resign Muzzin to something decent, it would change, but I believe right now 2020 would start with . . .
Rielly - someone
Sandin - Holl
Dermott - Liljegren

Given that Dermott's year has been pretty meh, I don't think his next contract is going to be anything more than a 2-year show-me bridge deal - maybe in the $1.3m range. For that, I'd probably keep him in the 7 spot as insurance so we don't have to play Marincin in the event of injury. I'm also of the opinion that starting the year injured and missing training camp has hampered his development. I think he can be a decent player.

That's possible. It depends on what they do with Muzzin.. I don't think Barrie stays, so that opens up a spot on the right side.
Dermott might be too good to be a 7th D-man, but it would be a great problem to have.
The numbers are probably close to where he'll be, if I'm honest with myself. He's a fine 5/6, a weak 3/4, and a should never be 1/2 D-Man. - Monkeypunk
A team with weak D depth or no NHL ready prospects sign him. A team will do it...
The same people that complain Marincin is in the lineup say the Leafs should of walked from Ceci...If they did Marincin would be in every game...and imagine Holl didn't come out of no where? yeesh
Have you ever said to a zealot, "Yeah, but you know, maybe he didn't have to drown everyone on Earth and just save like 4 people and a boat full of animals?"
