He's better than his reputation, in my estimation.
Still a meh player though and will probably play somewhere else next year

- BestRapperAlive

That wouldn't be hard.

It's like inviting John Wayne Gacy to an adult cocktail mixer and being impressed that he didn't kill anyone at the party.

suck it roger.

hooburdoze PP scoring is whats really jumped up the last couple season to make him a top scorer.

if we just look at the full seasons he played his PP points are

5
12
13
19
34
40 - this season 82 game PP pace

5v5 Stats willy and JH are pretty even, and willy is doing it at a younger age.

*last season willy is a writeoff

He’s a 1-1.5 million dollar defenceman. He got his money by tricking people but he won’t be getting overpaid anytime soon.

That's funny. I was wondering that earlier today.

What is Ceci's value going to be in Free Agency? Will some team offer him $2.5m?

Regardless, I hope we can do better. Obviously, if they resign Muzzin to something decent, it would change, but I believe right now 2020 would start with . . .

Rielly - someone
Sandin - Holl
Dermott - Liljegren

I feel like the stats should always be shown by game state.
PP really skews results, not everyone gets the same opportunity with PP time.

We probably havent seen the best from Willy yet.

I was saying this in the summer.

If Willy gets the same looks as Marner on the PP lookout. He is starting to now and his PPG stretch the least 40 games is proving it.

Given that Dermott's year has been pretty meh, I don't think his next contract is going to be anything more than a 2-year show-me bridge deal - maybe in the $1.3m range. For that, I'd probably keep him in the 7 spot as insurance so we don't have to play Marincin in the event of injury. I'm also of the opinion that starting the year injured and missing training camp has hampered his development. I think he can be a decent player.

*grumble* You made me go look that up . . .

The numbers are probably close to where he'll be, if I'm honest with myself. He's a fine 5/6, a weak 3/4, and a should never be 1/2 D-Man.

That's possible. It depends on what they do with Muzzin.. I don't think Barrie stays, so that opens up a spot on the right side.

Dermott might be too good to be a 7th D-man, but it would be a great problem to have.

Because they quit on Babs.. They wouldn't quit on Keefe.

bunch of quitting quitters

But under Keefe they quit quitting.

That's still quitting something.

Because he was playing in the League at 18 and 19 and Nylander wasn't. They're not comparable.
- RickJames77

Not sure why you are so intent on arguing this one.

Pasta played at a younger age - so his numbers weren't as good when negotiating his 2nd contract.

Sucks to be him, but it worked out well for Bruins fans.

Just sit back and enjoy it.

A team with weak D depth or no NHL ready prospects sign him. A team will do it...

The same people that complain Marincin is in the lineup say the Leafs should of walked from Ceci...If they did Marincin would be in every game...and imagine Holl didn't come out of no where? yeesh

I'd go as high as $2.5 million.

Have you ever said to a zealot, "Yeah, but you know, maybe he didn't have to drown everyone on Earth and just save like 4 people and a boat full of animals?"

That never gets you anywhere either.
