You can feel the rage and utter despair coming through the phone. And how he starts off fairly calm, and just slowly starts yelling and almost crying! And most of what he's saying, it seems pretty justified too.

The Leafs outhit the Bruins last playoffs, were the better team through the series but lost a close one.

Wow. I hate to enjoy the suffering of another but this was kind of like drinking velvety chocolate with my ears.

This is a real American thing though, starting off slow and quiet and then a crescendo to yelling about sports. Heavily influenced by gospel preaching I think. They love going off like this. I think for us this is a wild call but for them this is every call. This is how they talk about sports.

Honestly though, it seems like most of what he said was true too. In a way, good for him for calling them out, although he might need to find a way to de-stress, like listening to elevator music or playing with puppies.

Also this Duane character should try being a Leafs fan since the 80s on for size. He thinks the Sabres' have had it bad? That ain't bad.

Though not a Leafs fan, I’m certainly not a ‘hater’ like most. I will say though - surviving a physical game and coming out with a win is a lot different than winning 4 in a best of 7. It’s much harder playing every second night against a team that understands there will be no pushback if they target the big talent and run then down.

Exciting team to watch for sure, but just not built for the playoffs. I get the game has changed, but it’s still played by humans - humans can be intimidated. Tough, physical, mean matters.
