Wow, that's scary.

At least I still have happy memories of that hot chick from the movie The Crying Game.

Never saw the end of the movie - but wow! the first 45 minutes were enough. She was sooooooooo hot!

I think I may go home right now and think about her in the shower.

No one, from what I've heard on here Dermott is sick so they called up Gravel.

Maybe Dernott needed a dose of Gravel? Not sure.

Won't mind if he's in against the Sens. Thought he was responsible in his end during the preseason. Not flashy offensively. Don't want him to be. Looks like he's got an edge. Roll him out there.

For whatever reason, we take the foot off the gas against the Sens. Probably need a third period charge to pull it out. Hope to heck I'm wrong.

You know, it's the best chance to get a sense of best-on-best at that age level. Some guys impress who never even approach the impression they leave the WJC. Some guys fail to impress who elevate their game way beyond what they showed.

A good example is a guy like Svechnikov. I was not impressed with him at the WJC, and I saw him at the Young Prospects game, and was equally unimpressed with him there - but he's looking good now.

For me that guy is currently Byfield. His numbers in the O are gaudy; but he was not effective at the WJC (recognizing he's younger does excuse him somewhat), and was invisible in the Young Prospects game this year.

I like to see something that sets a player apart from their peers when they get into best-on-best.

Sure, but it's also worth acknowledging that it's a stretch of, at most, 7 games.

7 games under a new coach, with new linemates and likely in a role you aren't used to.

best on best is great and all, but it's not always a great indicator of what these guys will one day be.

Saw the Rick Bowness chat with Lance Hornby in our local paper today. " I love the Leafs creativity and their special attention defensively of late". Got to hope it keeps up if we have any chance at the big show this year.

Hard to say one indicator is better than another. Besides Carolina will draft a 5'10" centre at 15th with their own pick and be happy. Then they can have Jake Neighbours with the pick they got from the Leafs.

Nah - more like Mavrik Bourque or Justin Sourdif or you if you are really fortunate you can get Shakir Mukhamadullin. That would be fine, at least Leaf fans won't have to listen to Hughson (frank) up his name too often.

Hughson would just call him "Shak"

I can imagine Hughson saying. "Mukhe, rather Mukhamamama, or MukhamahatmaGandhi, uhhh.. Shak, skates it to center ice"
