Well I’m kinda glad Kotkaniemi is finally sent down. He looks so awkward and clumsy on the ice. Even the way he holds the stick looks weird. Also every time I see him I get pissed because I think of Brady Tkatchuk. Or Quinn Hughes. All the best to the kid. I hope Bouchard can’t turn him into something good. Although I’m not sure he’s going to be 3rd overall pick worthy.
The sky isn’t falling though. Suzuki looks like a stud (drafted by another scouting staff - hmmm...would ya look at that?!) Poehling will be a very solid number 3 behind Suzuki and Danault. Romanov has the potential to be a top 10 player his draft class and if that happens, it makes the Kotkaniemi miss a little easier to digest.
Look at the powerhouses in the Atlantic - rivals Boston and Tampa Bay. Both teams are stacked with young talent but both have had some critical blunders in the draft.
What if Tampa Bay selected Seth Jones at #3 rather than Jonathan Drouin? How about instead of picking Slater Koekoek at #10, they chose Filip Forsberg who was taken the very next pick? How would they look if they chose Vladimir Tarasenko with their #6 overall pick in 2010, rather than Brett Connolly?
Looking at the first place Bruins, they had the 13th, 14th and 15th pick in 2015 and selected Zboril, DeBrusk and Senyshyn. How ridiculous would this team look with any three of Barzal, Connor, Chabot, Boeser, Koneckny, who were all chosen within the next nine picks?
I think there’s room for changes with the amateur scouting but even the best teams don’t always draft the best player. Bergevin did some great damage control with the Galchenyuk pick, and now we have Max Domi. Let’s hope Kotkaniemi can find his game in Laval and don’t become another huge missed opportunity. |

think is with tb and bos was that their misses, mostly, are NHLers and their good selections have been really good |

Oh i know! Lets just hope someone is willing to offer something even MB can't refuse!
Sell! Sell! Sell!
Rebuild properly! Need some young defense prospects to play the long game here. No Scandellas and Petry (although he'd be a good mentor). |

uncle bob claimed that sandin, lilypad and roberston are the only 3 prospects they won't trade. Mainly because they are cheap, near nhl ready and will need to replace guys next year |

Uncle Bob doesn't know sh!t! It's a done deal, Habs retain 25% of Petry's salary, Leafs also get Nick Cousins and Chicago's 3rd round pick in 2021! Sources tell me Kapanen is being flipped to the Islanders as early as tonight... more to come |

Uncle Bob has been known to be a little too "Handsy" with the kids, not really caring for their development rather than their recovery. |
