Or more than likely get pushed aside for Demko and Dipietro cause they will be cheaper. Tough spot for both parties cause we (frank)ed our cap up with sven loui jay sutts ferland. Hopefully it works out - Jkuzzi

No cap problems, all is good. |

Two year deal ensures he will be E Draft protected and so will Demko and he can re sign like Edler in two years for another two years after. - VANTEL
A 2 year deal doesn't protect him from expansion draft. Your math is getting as bad as Nighthawks. |

I am willing to put money on they will be cap compliant by the start of next year. I will take all bets and even give odds to anyone willing to give me their money. |

It's not about being compliant, it's about having too many sh*tty contracts that prevent them from having more room to play with. Kind of like if they didn't trade away draft picks they might have more prospects ready to make the NHL.

Terrible contracts . If we didn't waste so much we might even be in first place
We have had 3 Calder contenders in the last three years. I am beginning to think your standards may be set a little high. |

Unconfirmed 2 year deal sent to Markstrom with a raise. Friedman says in the range of Darcy Keumper, which was 2 years 4.5 AAV. - manvanfan
Believe it or not, those big contracts aren't actually infinite - except for Myers
Sutter (and Edler) have one more year after this. Eriksson, Beagle, Roussel all have two. Time flies, doesn't it?
If Markstrom is willing to agree to 2 years, he could potentially get a bigger payday on his next contract if he keeps improving — whether it's with Vancouver, Seattle or as a UFA. It's a tricky bet at age 30 but his career trajectory has been so unusual.
That being said, I was expecting Markstrom's camp to want more term and more $$. It'll be very interesting to see how this shakes out. |

I don't see where 2 years gets it done. If he's willing to take 4.5 I'd run it for 4 or 5. That's a steal. I'm still thinking 5.5 is fair over 4. |

With them talking an extension i see other moves coming or at least in the offseason. Some cap freed up when Schaller is gone. |
