Sutter (and Edler) have one more year after this. Eriksson, Beagle, Roussel all have two. Time flies, doesn't it?

If Markstrom is willing to agree to 2 years, he could potentially get a bigger payday on his next contract if he keeps improving — whether it's with Vancouver, Seattle or as a UFA. It's a tricky bet at age 30 but his career trajectory has been so unusual.

That being said, I was expecting Markstrom's camp to want more term and more $$. It'll be very interesting to see how this shakes out.

Agreed, a lot of money will be off the books soon enough and there are a number of other relief actions that can be taken in the meantime (if desperately needed but I don’t think will be required). The sky is not following, time to look forward 😄

Re-sign the core, move away from older veterans (parents will no longer be needed), keep the prospect pipeline going, remain patient, and stay the course.

I think Tanev will sign here and fora reasonable price. Canucks stuck with him amidst all the trade rumors and injuries. He also really likes Petey and Hughes as friends

I liked Bennings answer today when asked if they are going to get a player if Ferland is healthy.

You have to pay attention to the numbers. If we win tomorrow we are 4 points out of first place in the conference. We have beaten the number one team 4 of 6 times in the last 2 years.

I don't think we will win the cup but I think we have a good chance of coming out of the conference and the numbers are starting to show. This is why I was debating this morning with Bloated about being a CONTENDER.

We are sixth in league scoring . Stay healthy and who knows what can happen.
