Certainly a clown but he's still a good hockey player. If he was on Van, we would be praising him probably.

I liked OJ in that draft because I thought OJ would go to Edmonton. Jarmo (frank)ed it all up but at the same time made a pretty smart pick.

Virtanen turned out fine so will OJ. All good.

I thought 5. With 3 games to go now and 4 points banked, 1 more win would be a good .600 trip.
Win against the Wild, and the dreaded first game back from a Eastern road trip against the Flames is the biggest game.

I was wondering yesterday what would media and fans think if Canucks win today and in Boston or just in Boston?

I think people expect the carpet to be pulled out from underneath but what if they are actually a good team?

We were suppose to be a bubble team not a top 10 team. That would be some good progress.

I can easily admit when I've said something wrong. Something you really can't.

You're 65. I thought you would have grown up a bit by now. Acting like a little baby.

Good luck.

I was asking the Oilers fans what they had thought about Caleb Jones about two years ago.

They also took Phil Kemp in the 7th round someone I wanted Van to draft in the 7th round, Van took Matt Brassard instead. Kemp isn't progressing in College.

I don't mind building from D out but I don't see it much different than taking Tkachuk after Juolevi. I doubt many would want that to happen again.

- manvanfan

Broberg is a fine prospect. Drafted right about where he should have been.
Can't use hindsight. A top pairling of Bouchard and Broberg 3 years from now could be nice for the Oilers.

Power forwards and defence take time. Well some of them do.

I look back at those picks and I probably wouldn't have ranked them so highly either. Live and learn. Sometimes you have to make that pick to complete your team though.

I hated Hughes pick because a RHD was my preference even though I had Hughes at 4. Again Live and learn

They're going to lose a game or two at some point, then some articles will get written writing them off, hysteria ensuing on Twitter, then we'll see which Canuck team comes out of that

(OJ)

The beginning of the year he was brutal first 10 games He has settled down nicely. He will be a top 4 Dman but I am not sure it will be with Canucks.

I liked Bennings answer today when asked if they are going to get a player if Ferland is healthy.

You have to pay attention to the numbers. If we win tomorrow we are 4 points out of first place in the conference. We have beaten the number one team 4 of 6 times in the last 2 years.

I don't think we will win the cup but I think we have a good chance of coming out of the conference and the numbers are starting to show. This is why I was debating this morning with Bloated about being a CONTENDER.

We are sixth in league scoring . Stay healthy and who knows what can happen.

I think we can both agree that all it takes for a deep playoff run is a hot goalie. Marky finds another level and who knows...

Bubble team? Most "Experts" I recall had them bottom 5. Some that actually dont just mock JB as a fool, follow the West, and watch the Canucks, had us as a bubble team.

After pulling out of a tailspin during the last road swing back East, they earned some slack with the public now, imo.
They won't win them all, but they have put themselves into a position that they don't have to.๐Ÿ˜

I honestly am not expecting much but I don't think it is a far reach to hope for a first round win. There are very few teams I don't think we can match up against in the West.

IMO
We can beat the in a 7 game series,
Oilers. Stop the obvious 2 players.
Flames. Team just isn't that deep.
Coyotes. Same as above, don't think they make it though.
Nashsville. On the downward spiral. Ala Van vs LA back in 2012.
Chicago. That dragon has been slayed.
In tough vs Vegas.

The teams that worry me are Knights and Avs . Anyone else I think we have an equal shot to win.

I also expect Benning to bring in two players .

The west is poop this year. My god, they are terrible when compared to the eastern conference. I think the Canucks have benefited from such poor competition, they appear better than they truly are.

Saying that, if they stay healthy they can run with the big dogs in the conference. But will keep my expectations very low for this post season so not to end up disappointed again.

Drafted right about where he should have been depending on what you think of his potential.

Obviously i'm not as high as others were on him.

The two guys I pumped the tires on the most last year were McMichael and Beckman. Who are both leading their leagues in PPG. Which means nothing as of right now other than they are showing good development. Which I still had Beckman around 25th best player in my rankings.

I'm not even saying i'm right but i'm saying through my own rankings i've learned from the past and someone like Broberg wasn't a top 15 pick in that draft for me.

Bouchard is having a decent year in his first AHL season I was told. He's never going to be a defensive stalwart but it's a give and take for the points he will put up.

Give and take. He's not a 7th overall pick like Hughes that is reliable in both ends.
