He's had a propensity of not staying fit in the off season. I do not recall what year it was but he came into camp at 300 pounds... Which was 35 over I think his normal weight... Saying all that, I'd make a call and make sure he's not like a dating site profile pic... |

Yea his playing shape was 265 and I remember that. Like if you could actually play at 300lbs my god that would be impossible to handle. |

Anybody else wonder why Ryan hasn’t said one word about Penguins getting out played 5 of 6 periods against Flyers? - Hemi07
No, he doesn't blog about half the games. |

I thought I read the last 2 years he started coming to come in good shape and actually trimmed down to around 245-250 to be quicker |

He's asked to be bought out however, reports are that at least 16 teams are interested in him. He supposedly refuses to play in Canada too. - hipcheck_goalie
well... PICK EM UP!! |

But a much better hockey player. Idk, if we moved Schultz and he's actually in shape could be interested. |

I'd probably rather stick with Schultz than bringing Byfuglien and his 285 pound out of shape frame right now |

Depends. If buff takes a 1m prove it contract I’d take that shot. Way more potential and by playoffs he might be in game shape haha |

I know this is a Pens blog but did you see Stephen Johns scored last night? How emotional it was! He's a Pennsylvania kid and been out for over a year with concussion symptoms. Glad to see him back. |

If he takes this discount I'd probably keep both lol It's never enough to have good players on D for the playoffs. This reminds me of the Phillipe Boucher signing. He barely played for us and got a cup. |

Buff is much better than Schultz. I doubt the Pens will inquire, but anyone wondering if he could play 3rd pair after a long history of success as a top 4 is over thinking it. Not to mention that RH shot for the PP. |

He's got a cannon too... I'd love to have him... Provided he can still skate. |

Id take the Buff that last played a game in the NHL any day every day, especially for 3rd pair. That would be insane.
However, 300 pound hasnt had game action in almost a year Buff? No thanks. |

TSN just reported that he's highly unlikely to play this year. He hasn't resumed skating from his ankle injury and is thought to be on the high end of 290 pounds. Dream over. Next! |

According to the SKTR charts, the Blueger line is seeing about 80% of their shifts against elite talent. Pretty impressive how well they've held up considering before the season 2 of those guys were not established NHL players and the other was a possible one year wonder who couldn't succeed without Lowry. |

Leafs could be in trouble if Anderson is out for any significant length of time |

Yeah...when the Leafs lose my Facebook newsfeed has tumbleweed blowing around in it the next day hahah. This whole season so far has kinda kept all the Leafs fans around me pretty humble as it is anyway haha. They lost Andersen last night too. If he's out long it greatly hinders their chances of getting back in. |

Exactly what I think. Not arguing Byfuglien's game. |
