I get that, but what difference does it make if we're still placing 29th in the league?

ideally our rookies would be good enough by the time Coleman and Palmieri are 35.. which is entirely plausible. Add a few UFAs, smart trades.. they're 2 players I'd like to have next season and beyond. . not to mention 2 guys the kids can learn from, along with what's left of Zajac's deal. Who else is there? 21yr old Nico?? If you're going to have 2 vets on this whole group of forwards, I have no problem with them being Coleman and Palmieri. Nico is already on his way. Looking forward to what he brings to the team next season. Last summer brought growth.. this summer should bring more. Really looking forward to Hughes getting stronger in the offseason. Kid has talent, just needs to continue to learn the game -some time with Elias would be nice- and continue to get stronger.

What rookies though? Smith, Bahl, and Boqvist all have a shot at being impact players but I would say all 3 are far from guaranteed. The rest of our prospects will probably produce a few role players but that's not going to turn this team around. We need high end players.

I mean Nico, Jack and this year's 1st.. and potentially another top 15 1st. Do you think trading Coleman or Palmieri will give us a high end player? I don't think so.

I saw an article two hours after they traded for him that they were shopping him.

I only watched the 2nd half of the 3rd-finish.. but I couldn't help feeling Kovy would be one of our better forwards.. yea I know he couldn't hang on the Kings.

Nico, Palms, Gusev, Bratt, .. Coleman.. Zajac..?.. Kovy? Hughes?

- MartysBetter88

Kovy didn't do much 5 v 5; but if you ignore the bad history and had signed him for $700,000 (or whatever the Habs are) it's not a bad move.

I brought my NJD Kovy Jersey to the game as a joke; but after he beat us in the shootout I abandoned it in the parking lot. (frank) him.

I swear it's totally true! I was angry after the shootout because Kovy was pretty ineffective 5v5 but I (frank)ING KNEW the guy was going to bury us once I saw they had picked him.

I went to the game with my father in law. I gave him the Kovy Jersey and I wore my Steve Bernier Jersey (which I won on a bet in 2012 from a Ranger Fan for the Eastern Conference Final). When we left the game, he took the Kovy Jersey off and I left it behind the attendant's booth in the parking lot across from 218 Halsey Street.

As is typical, the best part of the night was dinner at Hobby's Deli!!!

I hope you made someone's day. I would've taken that jersey without thinking twice.

So full blow it up dream list here

Vats and Coleman to Dallas for Tufte, sekera and a first with a conditional 3rd if they make the scf it becomes next years 1st.

Wood to Calgary for Bennett and a first with intentions of sending him to the minors or buying out

Palms to Pitt for Galchenyuk, Poulin and a 1st

Simmonds to Boston for a 4th

Greene to nyi for a 3rd

Realistically Wayne is completely useless and we're going to be stuck with him until the end of the season. He just provides nothing.

I like buying low on Galchenyuk is good but trading an extra year of Palmieri isn't buying low.

He sucks so it’s not so much buying low as it is opening cap for them
