Send them Kerfoot, have them retain salary. It's manageable. Just letting Muzzin and Barrie walk opens up space. They have some guys on ELC for the next few years, they can pull it off. They have the "geniuses" in the front office to crunch the numbers.

You’re overrating Doughty, I like him but giving up Nylander and letting Muzzin go sounds like a backwards move. JMO

It’s ok that you like the move, it doesn’t mean you’re right or wrong though.

Marner is softer than Nylander and the puck away just as much.

What experts?

This team isn't making any noise. They can't place defense for poop.

They won't but they sound sell. Look to next year. It's not happening as a wild card team (if they even make it).

- JohnFergusonJr

What experts? Where do you have them ranked in odds to win the cup out of 31 teams?

I’ll wait....

Getting rid of Muzzin by itself is a positive move. You overrate Muzzin greatly.

Losing Nylander isn't that big of a deal. It opens the cap space up to improve the blueline and the rest of the Leafs offensive stars can make up the scoring. Giving up less goals also allows you to get away with scoring less.

I haven’t given up hope yet, but it’s uphill, into a stiff wind and driving freezing rain.

With machine gun fire strafing us.

And killer ants.

Considering they're not even holding a wild card spot and if they do make it they'll most likely be out in the 1st round, their odds should be less than 5%.

Seriously?! I think we'd be in much better shape if we had another defender like Muzzin.

Hasn't and doesn't work in the playoffs for the Leafs. Especially Nylander who doesn't exactly scream "playoff monster performer".

Leafs sit 14th in the league with abysmal backup goaltending, a horrible start to the season (which got righted after Keefe took over), and injuries to multiple key players.

I think it's pretty factual that they're better than their current placement.

Do you even listen to yourself? (frank), it's just full on garbage that nobody, Leafs fans or otherwise, agree with.

When not a single soul agrees with you, it's time to reevaluate.

Too slow, gives the puck away too much for a guy that should barely be passing the puck.

Not going to age well, not worth the extension.

Holy frank, Marner turns over the puck in the neutral zone like a young Jason Spezza.

I wish Marner would give the puck away less but creative license is allowed to the guy who has been leading the team in scoring the past few years. A guy like Muzzin, not so much.

If 100,000 idiots go out and put money on something tomorrow, they move the line. It's about balancing the line, it's not about who actually has the best chances to win.
