Yeah there's no doubt. I'd probably lean towards agreeing with you on that one. He and Sorokin were probably the best two goalies in the KHL. They also played for the two best teams, but their numbers were/are just insane.
Frankly, I'm kind of happy to see him doing well because that at least means that it's entirely possible Sorokin, if he comes over, shouldn't have his KHL numbers dismissed simply because it's the KHL and he played for a powerhouse team.
I just remember how over the moon Flyers fans were last year with Hart and I was kinda thinking...yeah he's playing unreal but I'd like to see how he fares once teams have the time and tape to study him in depth and can really get a read on how he plays. So far this year in 32gp his numbers aren't particularly special. I don't think that means he's trash by any means, but he's not the next super-goalie to step in and be a star from day 1, that's all. - eichiefs9
The one thing that I feel like separate Shesty and Sorokin from Hart is not only the fact that they are older, but the jump from KHL as opposed through the juniors/AHL is not quite as steep. I do think Hart oozes with talent, but I will argue to this day that he was rushed way faster than he should of when he wasn't even setting the AHL on fire at the time. Teams will adjust to Shesty and Sorokin too, but those two have been playing against some NHL level talent for quite awhile in Russia and I'm sure already know how to make some adjustments.

Yea there's no doubt they probably have a leg up coming out of a top pro league and not juniors. I just think the NHL is so above-and-beyond anyone else that when the best players in the world have time and plenty of tape to study, they start to poke holes in anyone's game and it's probable that a 2nd year goalie might face a bit of regression, that's all. Doesn't mean they can't make their own adjustments. |

His KHL deal is up after this season. Season ends at the end of this month then they have playoffs starting in March. I think the, very cautious, expectation is that he wants to make the jump to the NHL next year. CSKA is probably going to back a dump truck full of cash to his front door (and I believe they've already made him a substantial offer), so there's definitely a possibility that he decides to stay home and play there.
Ideal situation would be that he comes over here after his season and gets some AHL time to start acclimating to the smaller sheet. Greiss' deal is up after this season as well, so in a perfect world he would step in and share the net with his buddy Varly next year. He has to sign a 1 year ELC. - eichiefs9
Ah ok. Were Shesty and Sorokin friends outside of their rivalry? I know they were both on team Russia I think. You would hope Shesty talks him into coming over. Then you owe us big time. Like free handy's for the whole board |

So after 50+ games how do you guys feel about the Fox trade? Think the 2 2nds was overpay? Think we got the better deal? Personally I make that trade 100x over again, Fox looks legit and those picks are a crap shoot. |

I think 20-10 is a tall order, but it isn't impossible. Our 3 games with them are must wins though. The real team we need to catch is the Canes, as they are in between us and the Flyers. Honestly, if we can pass them, NYI is looking like a dumpster fire right now. It's not a given that they won't totally collapse down the stretch. - 2sticks1puck

I'm not sure, honestly. I think they're friendly but I'm not sure they're "friends". I don't think they dislike each other...yet
I'll only give a handy to Norway Pete. |

I can't imagine anyone would be against that trade now. Maybe before not knowing how Fox would play in the NHL, but now, no way |

If you guaranteed his production at the time of the trade, I would have given a 1st for him. No way is 2 2nds an overpay based on what he's done so far. |

I’m more impressed with his defensive side of the game. We knew he could help offensively and run the PP but I didn’t realize how good he was in his own end, he doesn’t look out of place at all back there. |

It was a no brainer then and even more so now seeing what he does on the ice.
Him and Lindgren are going to be the new Leetch Beukeboom pair. Not comparing any of the players, but I mean the pair that’s together for years (ie-Keith Seabrooke).
Quinn stated that he likes them better together as opposed to playing on a different pairs |

Didn’t the Kings say they are willing to take on money for prospects ? This is why you build up your prospect pool to help make things work for the team. Not all prospects will play for the team but can help the team in trades |
