He played 3rd pair behind two 3rd round picks at RD, one of whom, Adam Fox, is having a comparable rookie season. I'd also suggest part of the production jump is who he's passing to.

That's why I said look deeper than just scoring. He was asked to play a defensive role despite the fact he's obviously got NHL caliber skating and hands. Sometimes that works best for a skill guy because they realize early they need to round out their game. Too many scoring stars in the minors can't adjust when they're not one of the best players on their team anymore in the NHL. (Hi Daniel Sprong)
