Kahun is skating at least. I'm not counting on Bjug for any help soon. Sully has Galch, Laff and whoever buried so deep they'll need a backhoe to escape. I appreciate Rutherford's patience, but he needs to pull the trigger on something ASAP. - madmike71
Yeah I was kind of hoping for a blowout once I saw it was 2-0. Kind of an exclamation point Ruth needs to get his ass in gear. |

Yup.
Can't imagine GMJR will be patient much longer. The signs are obvious. He usually strikes by now. Getting Sid's winger will make all the difference in the world in getting the lines back where they need to be. I don't think McCann belongs on the top line. |

The bubble teams out west keep winning because the west is crap and they're still in the hunt because the west is crap. I think that's the holdup. |

Likewise. I don't care what Simon's numbers are, he doesn't belong in the top six. Ever. - Hockey66
LMAO, what numbers? Since the return of Crosby, if you look at 5v5 scoring the weakest line has been Sid's. Maybe only slightly better than the fourth line. Take out the Minnesota game and it only gets worse. And that is with the goal scoring tear he has been on.
For the year guess who has the weakest 5v5 %. Oh, he's ahead of a couple of WB players.
I thought it was absolutely hilarious that when we were talking about trade options that the only three untouchable NHL players were Galchenyuk, Johnson and the Golden Boy. Actually, I am still chuckling about that.
Whatever, I am done with my soap box. |

Well that game sucked. The defense was shaky. The PP was confused and stupid. Murray looked good. |

Oh, you know, possession, expected goals, etc. The expected goals stat is funny because no matter good the possession and high-danger chances, etc. that Simon gets, I don't expect any goals from him. |

Sucks how we can't score on a 5 on 3 with 8 minutes left in the 3rd period. F that. |

And not just any 5-on-3, but one for 1:34. Whoever is in charge of the PP should be on the hot seat. To only convert 19.2% with the talent on the top PP unit is ridiculous. Most of the time they look like they have no idea what they are doing. |

Right now, yes. Hard to be better without Dumoulin, Guentzel, Kahun and Bjugstad. We're essentially playing with an AHL line. |

Btw the Sabres are willing to part ways with Vesey, Montour and Ristolainen. |

I don't think he sucks at all. He's got size and plays good defensively lol Easy to knock on a guy who's hurt. |

He didnt suck last season with Simon and Horny. I liked alot of what I saw from him after coming over. This year he looked like trash...but he did have a core muscle injury and then surgery for it. I cant help but feel like that plagued him from the get go this season.
I wouldnt lose a wink of sleep if they traded him and I dont really care to see if he can get back to looking decent in the bottom 6...we're running out of time for that.
EDIT: also...I wouldnt lump him with the other 3 either... |

Totally agree. I was looking forward to that line coming back, but he was really, really bad this season. I think it's obvious he was hurt early and tried to gut it out. He's been a pretty good player in the past.....although inconsistent. However, I wouldn't be counting on him contributing at all this season. |

He doesn't. I think McCann belongs on his own third line. He just doesn't have the give and go ability required by top 6 players you know? He's been on a line with Simon and Crosby since Sid's return and has really looked lost. Jim has to get something going here. |

Some more from TIOPS:
1) Apparently teams are interested in Schultz and while the Pens still value him, they're open to listening on offers.
2) Carolina has supposedly gauged interest and Haula would be a target.
3) A 3 C is apparently high on the Pens radar to keep McCann and Bjug at wing.
4) Dumo's return is going to be longer than expected.
Also read Yohe's captain obvious article today, but the only other names he's thrown out there he believes the Pens will be in on is Craig Smith from NSH, AA from DET and Saad. I know Saad's name has popped up previously, but I don't think he reported on that. |

I'm not trying to say Bjug will be some kind of savior or anything, but you have to cut the guy a little slack. He got injured two games into the season and you could tell he didn't look right when he came back, then got injured again.
