His individual expected goals for is higher this year.
His most common line mates are still:
Johansson
Sobotka
Rodrigues
Sheary
Krueger doesn't want to break up his shut down line, but Larsson and Skinner complemented each other well and I bet Skinner's numbers would look a lot better.
Even so, his goals/60 at 5v5 is at 1.1 despite the cold streak. He was 1.34 last year
And as a result, his
-low danger shots are up slightly
-medium danger shots are DOWN 19%
-high Danger shots are DOWN 50+% |

that's fine, but it's still a results business and it's absolutely not enough from a guy making $9 million. - BINGO!
A wise man one said a player should get a mil every 10 points
hes far from a 90 point guy. |

I think people see skinner and 9 million and expect him to drive his own line. When in reality, He can’t
Skinner is a very good robin. He needs his Batman to lead and carry the play (eichel)
If robin doesn’t have Batman, he is ineffective.
Basically skinner is a good sidekick and not a good main guy - Sabretooth9
Unfortunately for skinner his only other option here besides batman is being the sidekick to a bunch of 4th liners |

the problem with Jeff is that he's been all over the map his entire career. His 7.8% shooting percentage this year is actually closer to his career average than the 14.9% he posted last season.
He's always got it done on shear volume, and he's not getting that volume this season.
he's the very definition of a one-way player, and unfortunately that one way isn't working well this season. He's a good player, but he's also a 28 year old with a career high of 63 points. - BINGO!
A GM that had any foresight would have been able to predict (or better yet to PLAN) for what-if scenarios. Such as - ‘What if Jeff goes off. Has a career year. What do we do then ? How much should we be willing to pay ?’.
The only chance Bott’s had was to give him a quality Center and fix the bottom 6 (or bottom 9 in our case).
Winning cures all and if the team was firmly in the playoff hunt and, more importantly playing well, all this would be moot and we’d be talking about the next game.
So it is in Buffalo. There’s some bad ju-ju on this team and there has been since they came into the league. |

that depends on what results are to you. Goals and assists are so often wildly impacted by the other four guys on the ice that you need a bit more context before punishing a guy for coming up short.
I know it's his job to score, and I think he's done what he can given what he's been given. The cold streak sucks, but not new for someone like him.
Next year they could put him with Larsson, a new winger who can keep up and have Dahlin out there with him every time and his numbers would go up and people would talk about how he "re-discovered his game" |

Good reed: I realize you need to write to the audience, but ...........
Interesting take on the 2nd goal. Risto's fault?
At least he was trying. No mention of the "other guy" not backchecking? - Boss34
Sam.
Sam was on the ice for 1:45. Tried chasing g Larkin from the goal crease.
Larkin a speedster, Sam slow.
Wonder if he was gassed?
Jack was fully rested having taken a double minor in the offensive zone chasing a player with his stick rather than his legs.

Unfortunately, we Sabre fans will continue to suffer for the near future. GMBotts has the owners trust. He recently stated you win by drafting talent in the later rounds to augment your cant miss prospects. That means continue to off load boaderline nhl talent soon to be free agents for draft picks at the deadline. Botts was the cap specialist in Pittsburgh when they won two cups recently. Look what the Bills have done under the same ownership. They were in cap hell with a top heavy roster that couldn't get over the hump. I agree, ten years of rebuilding has soured the fanbase tremendously. Mittelstadt, UPL, Couzens, Samuelsson are all on the cusp of NHL. This team will be deep, and they will start winning, I just wish it happened three years ago.
I believe Ristolainen will fetch a top six player at the deadline, and more draft picks for the other UFAs. - Tinkleman11
your optimism is commendable.. But mitts could be a flop and he hasn't yet produced a player in the mid rounds that even resembles a player that looks to be a top 9 talent. |

I never write to the audience, it's the easiest way to piss off the audience i find.
Reinhart was on a 2 minute shift, he probably wouldn't catch dylan larkin if he was fresh.
Either event it's my belief that he should take the pass. - Michael Ghofrani
Solid.
Boss was too busy talking to his Hocket-Dad buddies about which beer they wanted in another 0.2 seconds. |

No excuse for not giving %100, long shift or not.
He quit, days after calling teammates out for quitting.
Guys been here for all the losing. Even the 9 games where he looked like a mini mite the mceichel tank year.
Time for a change, starting with sam.
Also funny what a complete jerk he came off as.
Laughed at the question, like he was better than answering to his failure
Then he misuses "value that question "
Meathead meant validate that question, I would guess?
This is his contract year, when guys try extra hard |

Not any different that Sam. Let's give him 9 Mill. The bridge deal is going to turn into a huge mess. I assume he would have taken 5.5 for 6 years.

It would have been nice for Reinhart to at least dive, put out his stick, show some care and effort in trying to stop a goal instead of blowing it totally off. That was a bad look for one of your top players. Too many enablers for favorites here. Risto was playing top 5 minutes in the league the last few years and no excuses were thrown his way. I bet he was tired too. |

Ion, it was a lack of effort. Speedster, gassed , sam slow.
You are deflecting . Now it was eichels fault sam couldn't give a honest effort.
Pay $ and go to a game.
Watch hutton and montour laugh on the bench after giving up 5 goals.
Watch the "other" #2 pick give the puck away, game after game. Then give up.
Your incredibly large tv doesnt capture everything, just what the camera shows you.
👍👍
And there's 2 thumbs up for you 🙂 |
