about the only time you get comparable value is when you trade from a position of strength for a position of weakness with a team of the opposite.. we have 8 million D, why can't we trade some of them plus a prospect or something for offense??
- SabresFaninIndiana

It seems so obvious yet... sheary is underachieving so we shouldn't or something according to our lovely GM

unless he was on crosbys wing he has always been "under"achieving.. so maybe he just isn't that good

How can you say we would have Eichel without the Kane trade. That was a race to bottom. We got even worse after trading for Kane securing us Eichel. To think we would of had same result is a huge assumption.
- Fattony1187

It's also quite possible that if we don't make the trade we catch Edmonton (who were also tanking) in the standings and end up with McDavid instead.

we have been saying this for 5 years.. the only ones that have improved have been Jack and Sam.. the rest are the same or worse
- SabresFaninIndiana

I was referring to Joker, Dahlin- some of the young core.
I don't have the answers, but like any business it always starts from top down.
There is a disconnect somewhere.

Dman dive on 2-1's all the time, not sure if anyone asked about it though. Less often do players quit on plays.
- GilPerreault11

I can’t remember the last time I saw an nhl dman make a half assed fake poke at the puck just inside the blue line on a 2 on 1. Kids get benched in peewee hockey for effort like that.
In the end it was a 2 on 1, he was the guy back and made that weak ass play and we want to blame someone else.

Tim Graham hates the guy so anything between those two has to be read with that lens in mind.
- GilPerreault11

You might be the only guy who defends Harrington.
The question of giving up the way it was asked was BS.
Asking Sam in a more professional manner would probably get an answer...but that clearly wasn't what hackington was after.

Just like dalton smith was going to punch someone in the face!
- robz228

Certainly not softy sam

Dalton set an nhl record.

Has played fewer minutes in the nhl than he has penalty minutes ☝️

No, not deflecting, unless the truth is deflecting.
Eichel does no wrong in your world while you wait for 0.2 seconds of a game to hang the loss on Sam and double double down on him alone being the reason the entire team, including Jack is soft.
You can't recognize the fact Sam is having another strong season, very consistent in his growth.
Jack's penalty is partially to blame, if that was Sam you would be all over him.
You hatred for Sam is running close to JGraigs railing on Botts.

It's all good, let's run him out of town 'cause SSTT can fill that void on RW.

You way, way over value the benefit of viewing live from 100's down at one end of the rink.
No context of the fact the guy chasing from behind wasn't going to catch him and he was on the ice for 2-1/2shifts already
Harrington is a hack with a vendetta, just itching to ask Sam that question there.
Funny how the goals were scored by guys not pulling their weight all season after being called out by Sam the previous game.
Sam 3, Sam-Haters 1

- IonSabres

Grasping at straws

Remember when we used to scout with video?
Darcy years.

Why did people complain?

Why do scouts travel to games live then?
Overvalued benefit live?

These sammers just keep deflecting.

Risto was trying his best, something that can't be said of soft sam.

Even so, his goals/60 at 5v5 is at 1.1 despite the cold streak. He was 1.34 last year

- Michael Ghofrani

That's a 21.8% drop off if I'm doing the math right. Pretty terrible if you ask me.

Just a thought here after reading that the Rangers could shop Trouba before his NTC kicks in on July 1st.
Would a Reinhart for Trouba be a fair trade for each team?
This could give us our 1RD and NYR could have a potential cheaper/younger replacement for Kreider.
This would allow us to trade Montour and/or Risto easier or include them in a bigger deal with the NYR.
Do it now and see how Trouba fits in, and if doesn't flip him to his hometown team the Redwings for Larkin.
If you're gonna dream, dream big.

I think troubas wife wanted to live in NYC? Job related?

I like the trade though. Seems fair.

Cue - jcrags - another defenseman

the play can be inexcusable but also not be a reason to trade him at the same time

Package him with Risto or Montour and get us our damn 2C.

Then draft Raymond/Holtz at 7.

Cozens moves to RW.

Spend remaining cap dollars on the wings.

Problem solved.

- Pegullaville

Much easier to call Pittsburgh and trade Dahlin for Malkin.

Edmonton won the lottery pick from the third worst record that year. We had the worst record and lost out on the lottery.

Because we need a 2C. We don't need a mythical defenseman who is going to be great "someday in the future" but isn't great right now. We have enough NHL defensemen to field a roster. We dont have a 2C. Are you saying Malkin isn't good enough? If so, put down the crack pipe.
