If Botts has half a brain, he should literally be working around the clock with ~6 teams in the Western Conf currently all fighting for the WC positions; virtually all of them sans SJS, Ana, LAK.
He should be selling "arms" to as many teams as possible Mojo, Miller, Vezey, Sheary, McCabe to create more competition to drive higher demand. They can hold 3 Salaries...do it. - IonSabres
I thought a team can only retain salary on 2 players? |

Sure. It’s also not as big of a difference as people think. And I do not think Skinner has played well overall this year.
But his career #’s suggest he’s closer to those guys than he is an average 50 point player |

Skinner's a good Hockey player, and the Sabres need to find a Center that could help the both of them. But he is nowhere near those 2 with the puck on his stick. |

1. Trade Jack Eichel - The guy is lazy and obviously not a good leader. He’s been captain for years on a team that quits most nights. He’s one of the longest tenured Sabres and we can’t even come close to the playoffs with him. He’s obviously overhyped and we should sell now while his value is really high. The return would be unimaginable and would give us the assets to rebuild into an actual playoff team.
2. Trade Dahlin - We all know what direction his value is going. It ain’t up. Sell now while his value is still high. He’s got great puck moves and stick tricks and he can skate and pass, but it doesn’t translate to being all that much more effective than other players who play simple games. He was hyped as a generational dman and he’s obviously not that. What he could bring to us in a trade is worth way more than he will ever be for us.
The return from these two players alone will fill out the entire roster and make us better overall.
As far as head coach I think we need a new approach. We keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result. We need someone with a visionary perspective who is willing to change things up. I think Kym Pegula should take over the head coaching duties. Sure she doesn’t have experience, never played hockey, but her life experience is really what will turn this around for us.

An "unimaginable return" for a lazy player?

Hopefully, trying to see what it would take to get Mantha out of Detroit. |

At botts rate. I’ll take anyone I am hoping for another montour type trade.
B prospect + 2nd for young player with term. (Yes I know we gave away a first and guhle)
Mitts + 2nd
Asplund + 2nd
Or something like that. Depending on the player |

I am too but probably no choice to do it. They have a number of pending UFA's. If they want to make a hockey trade (Risto, Montour) do it in the summer or at the draft.
And I'm not saying Risto or Montour will be moved, just using them as an example. |

As I mentioned earlier. A montour type trade works too.
Asplund + 2nd
Mitts + 2nd
Something like that. But obviously has to be worth it |

Funny trying different trade scenarios with posters on the Detroit site and Leafs. Not to many think very highly of Risto or Montour. |

sure they do...the Columbus blue jackets should have traded bread-man and bob last year for futures because they knew they'd walk at seasons end...they didn't and showed everyone that they were trying to take it as far as they could...this year they're without those two and are the surprise of the nhl...
we can talk all we want about a new culture for players, but it begins with management and doing the right thing |

Well I meant for what we paid for a player like montour
Get someone via trade with a decent prospect + for a good young player with term. |

I know, I just find it funny that they might be a couple of are biggest chips and nobody seems to want them. Could be different with GM'S but fan bases. |

First... nice to see ya Pach!
Second, what’s the right thing? That’s where I’m starting to get lost with this team!
If monte is pricing himself out of buffalo (89 says he is looking at a raise that’s making botts butt clench a little), don’t you have to try and move him?
And while I see the point with what cbj did. The Sabres just aren’t that good, consistently.... so what’s going to improve consistency?
I see it as a 50/50 deadline. If you can move a couple ufa’s that aren’t in your future plans, do it.
If you can pull a player or two in that may improve the consistency of the team... do it...
I’d still make that play for gally and staple him at 2c for the rest of the year...
skinner-gally- froyo/mojo/???
If a team wants bogo for depth with celery retained, he gone!
I am guessing they have some idea of who they want back from... Vesey, sheary, lazar, Larry, Grigs... move who you don’t want to resign... the organization still needs future depth.
