I know, I just find it funny that they might be a couple of are biggest chips and nobody seems to want them. Could be different with GM'S but fan bases. - Buff36
I think it’s more the fan base than the gms. |

I sure hope so, cause 1 of them should be moved to get something for the know and future. |

First... nice to see ya Pach!
Second, what’s the right thing? That’s where I’m starting to get lost with this team!
If monte is pricing himself out of buffalo (89 says he is looking at a raise that’s making botts butt clench a little), don’t you have to try and move him?
And while I see the point with what cbj did. The Sabres just aren’t that good, consistently.... so what’s going to improve consistency?
I see it as a 50/50 deadline. If you can move a couple ufa’s that aren’t in your future plans, do it.
If you can pull a player or two in that may improve the consistency of the team... do it...
I’d still make that play for gally and staple him at 2c for the rest of the year...
skinner-gally- froyo/mojo/???
If a team wants bogo for depth with celery retained, he gone!
I am guessing they have some idea of who they want back from... Vesey, sheary, lazar, Larry, Grigs... move who you don’t want to resign... the organization still needs future depth. - Gr8daygo
thx...still lurking occasionally and it's good to see you're all still here...
the right thing, imo, is to break the cycle of selling at the tdl and trying to reshape things in the off season...botts should add a player, preferably with term like they did with Montour last season, in an effort to break that cycle...this group needs management to do something now so that their efforts, however inconsistent, don't go unrewarded |

sure they do...the Columbus blue jackets should have traded bread-man and bob last year for futures because they knew they'd walk at seasons end...they didn't and showed everyone that they were trying to take it as far as they could...this year they're without those two and are the surprise of the nhl...
we can talk all we want about a new culture for players, but it begins with management and doing the right thing - Michael Pachla
If they are not within a reasonable distance of a playoff spot by the trade deadline, what is the point of keeping UFA's such as Sheary, Vesey, and some others if other teams value them for their playoff runs?
They are 11 points out of a playoff spot currently. Why should they be going for it? The time to make an impactful move was months ago. |

why not?
what's the return?...a low round pick that has single-digit odds of making it as a pro?
give this group a bump and let them see how far they can take it |

Hard to say what to do anymore. I think I would trade Sheary for a pick that might be able to use for something else. Vesey depending on his thoughts and what he wants could be a useful bottom 6. |

I would not take that approach with a team that is 11 points out of a playoff spot, but let's say you do: I'm going to assume you mean making a long term trade and not trading for a pending UFA, right? |

trade enough in salary to create enough cap-space for an addition...
I know it ain't easy, but it can (and should) be done |

I would sell off Sheary, Vesey, and Frolik, i.e. players that I would not plan on bringing back. |

yup...just like they did with Montour last season...
a guy like adam Henrique is a bit pricey at $5.8M, and at 30 he ain't getting any younger, but for this year he can be put between skinner and Johansson and he'll still have term left to take on a mid-six center role while the youngins develop |

if they can get rid of frolic and his $4.3M hit, it would be a miracle |

Yes it can and I agree, moving Sheary and say Frolic would give you that wiggle room for Henrique. |

They need to create more cap space for next year. I don't think Montour wants to be here, but you can't lose him for nothing. And I would see about moving Miller |

Burned that first and a highly rated prospect at the time on montour. Won’t be getting that back. Horrible trade. |

We’ll never know. - Pegullaville
Pegullaville never knows when it suits him but he knows for certain when it suits him.
Actual question and I am not looking for supposition:
Why does Skinner get treated like this? 10 minutes a night; Alleged spreading the scoring? Why is he not back on Eichel's wing?
He is signed. If he was not signed - MUTINY. When he gets signed - MUTINY. He is here and he is getting paid. What makes his situation better? I think the solution to it is putting him back on Jack's wing. Loved the production last year for all three and even though we only had one line, they produced.
Why is his talent being used this way? Does anyone know if he is still hurt? Did he sleep with Kreuger's kin? What did he do? And to say he is not talented would be incorrect, in my mind.

I just read Kyrou could be available and that St Louis is looking for middle 6 help. They have cap space and the only FA they really have to worry about is Pietrangelo. Wonder if they would be interested in Sheary, Vesey, Johansson or Frolik?
I know a lot of people here wanted Kyrou in the ROR trade, maybe we could grab him this time around.
They are very deep with center prospects and are set for a while with the big club, perhaps we could add a dman and they could add a C prospect as part of a bigger deal. |

Nobody is happy when the team flat out sucks. I put zero concern into it aside from the obvious duo that asked to be traded. |
