How does marketing Dahlin get Pegs $10mil ?
And how does Larking only get him $1mil ?
U lost me there - jdfitz77
IF world wide marketing gets you those values ie. having Dahlin on the roster is worth more from a marketing perspective. |

And all that proves is that fans still care.
Apathy, that's the real fear at PSE - or it should be - jcragcrumple
The “not caring” will never get to the point (only 3,000 in the seats) to generate any kind of action though
A giant protest that’s nationally covered at least has a chance to spur some real action |

It's not obvious, with the amount of people around here that are demanding a poho. Cause hiring a guy to manage another guy when just the one guy is sposed to know what he's doing is bass ackwards |

This is getting a bit confusing.
Detroit wouldnt trade larkin for dahlin?
You would "consider" trading our 1st for larkin
Larkin> dahlin
1st (maybe at your discretion) > larkin
Your opinion of dahlin is pretty low.
I'm pretty sure every gm would take dahlin over svech for Carolina. And svech over larkin?
Has dahlin played that badly?
I value your opinion, it's just hearing national media say hes the best defenseman prospect possibly ever, kinda has me wanting to see it happen in buffalo. - Boss34

Does anyone truly believe Botterill personally selects everyone the Sabres draft?
Does anyone truly believe he’s the only one who handles contracts with agencies or agents?
Does anyone truly believe he watches all 31 NHL teams 82 times a year and has a beat on every player who might be available?
The entire organization, from the scouting department, to the assistants, to the need for a President to the GM’s staff needs an overhaul
Until the Pegula’s start there. The same issues will persist.
Sabres have invested the *least* amount of resources into analytics than any other team. But yes, it’s all on one guy |

Well I’ve said a bunch of times that a PoHO wouldn’t be involved in the day to day lineup decisions ppl are upset about
And he wouldn’t be involved in 99% of the personnel moves ppl are b!tching about
And Boss got what i meant, lol
For the record, I would like a PoHO
BUT
I don’t think it would’ve made a difference on whether or not we traded for Sheary, or didn’t trade for Haula, or what line Skinner plays on,
or any of the other stuff most of us are upset about |

I think 1st timers to the section would agree, but i think those who do it once will keep coming back to it. I know it may be super petty but with my seats and around me its neat to be "on tv" all game
The other thing for me is that being close has worn off, have others felt that way too and would rather just get in the building vs being close - hubie
Many many years of sitting in the oranges, looking down at the "rich" people in the golds. Not the "real fans" from being a kid, pretty jealous back then.
It's super cool to sit that close.
Hard to see the other end though.
TV gig is also cool. I'm just out of the picture.
The clubs are fun, but i enjoy being close
Smells and sounds like hockey.
Seeing how huge malkin is and how fast he is, those type of things are better down low. |

Like I said earlier. Pegula has a blueprint on how an organization needs to turn itself around. The highlighted is exactly what the Bills did. Exactly. |

Idk? What did he make?
And there’s LOTS of other good Swedish players in the league
It’s not like we’d be going there every year
Also...
i think I’m just not understanding you
Bc (for me) the marketing of Dahlin/Larkin is different than whether or not we get another trip to Sweden
Maybe we are talking about 2 different things though? |

If you're going to hire this guy, he can't have anything to do with the on ice product. Because that's what the GM and his staff are for. Botterill has two assistant GMs. This is what their job is. Getting a 4th (frank)ing guy in there simply tells me it's 4 (frank)ing guys to dig one (frank)ing hole. |

Ill put it this way ... he has as much control over the draft picks as my sales manager has over the sales department.
Theres a reason why its called a General Manager..... he is managing it

Who do you think is more marketable in the Us, internationally?
IF you took a poll in each of the rooms on the buzz who could honestly say im goign to a wings game to watch Larkin? |

No offense to your post, and sarcasm noted, I just despise the whole "If only we had a PoHo" takes. Like it would make this team any (frank)ing better. If you're going to hire a guy to babysit the babysitter, then fire the (frank)ing babysitter. |

Never said he was average. Never said I would do Dahlin just for Larkin. Nobody wants to wait for this team to get better, everybody is crying we need a 2C and a Winger. Trade this person or that person to achieve that. Well he is one piece that could do that. Do I want to, of course not. But everything should be looked at that could make this TEAM better. Would it hurt us, losing Dahlin, of course. But the players brought in might make us a better TEAM, then just 1 player does. |

Jason Botterill entrusts his regional scouts, and that staff, to choose mid-late round picks.
Our euro scout had to convince Murray to draft Olofsson. This scenario happens, in the later round, probably 75% of the time. |
