at 19 he is 21 ist points what more can we ask?
Oddly his assist are almost 50/50 even strength to power play
and oddly enough he has 0 OT points

- hubie

I think I could ask for more goals and some better non chalant swedish plays in the defensive end.

Both will come with age.

Pretty sure we would have all said over 13 goals with 25 games left in season 2. (With John jack on the ice quite a bit)

Makar is two full years older then Dahlin.

At 19 was playing college hockey, Dahlin is on pace to have the 2nd most points ever recorded by a teenage defence man in NHL history.

- Pegullaville

See my next post Facccoville. You'll be backpedaling as usual since you're one of the advocates for reaching prime at 23.

It isn't.

Tv revenue?
Pretty sure it is split evenly

Regardless...
we wouldn’t get more or less if we had Dahlin or Larkin instead

And EVERYONE here except for Beethoven & apparently you thinks we should do just that

Some of the patience levels vary,
but even 99.9% of the most impatient guys wouldn’t want Dahlin moved

And I’m still waiting for a response on who we’d have left on defense that’s even remotely close to Pietrangelo & Letang & Carlson if we were to trade Dahlin

- jdfitz77

What, I have been one of the biggest supporters of being patient and building through the draft. But people on hear think Risto or Montour are gonna get you a 2C, it ain't happening. And go get a good shut down Dman and let Risto get 45 50 pts a year for you. Resign Montour and let him get his 35 45 pts. A good all around defense is better then 1 great player and some fill in's.

Those are national deals. The topic was local deals. At least I thought it was.
- Lunaion

Nope

But i also don’t know that there’s much of a difference in a local TV deal if we have Larkin instead of Dahlin

I'm pretty happy with where he's at and how Ralph has handled him. He had a rough stretch and a significant injury. He's really cut down on the bad turnovers, and you couldn't feel good turning him loose offensively until he did.

Aren't local deals part of the revenue sharing pool too, though?
- buffalofan19

They might not be as evenly split, not sure

If anything, Sweden is turning off Sabres games. They don't want to be let down by their alleged Generational DMan looking pedestrian every night.

Wait, now he is a franchise DMan? I thought he was generational? Wake me up when he does something worth a damn to make me think he is even a #1 D Man in the league. Typical over exaggeration hoping to be relevant some day. Auston Matthews scored 4 goals in his first game ever. I would've thought a "Generational" DMan would do something noticeable by now. Dahlin has done nothing other than look flashy every now and then. It would be nice if decided to start doing something meaningful in a game some time soon. That's my take.

His "scoring records" will be shattered in years to come when a real generational D Man comes along. Best players in any sport are reaching their prime much faster than the players at the time of the defencemen that Dahlin is breaking scoring records of. Does that make sense? If not, you get the drift.

Either you are trolling or you are trying to make sure the SAbres are bad forever.

I cant quite figure it out.

Yes, I drove 350 miles to go to some poopty half hearted terrible attempt at a protest. If it was organized by season ticket holders, it would've been as loud and exhilarating as going to the KBC to see the Sabres. Of course not. I told this board how to get a reaction and you commented on it.

Simple, hire successful people with experience and put them in the proper places. If they like botts as a first time, young gm, you partner him with an experienced person as president.

If you fire you handsy marketing guru. You replace him with an experienced sports marketing person, not the co/owner with minimal sports management background.

They have been running the same structure since Pat was shown the door. That structure has been a rookie gm with different levels of experience coaches. The results are the same. The moral is the same. The lack of on ice success is the same. By all accounts the game day experience has gone down hill.

So with the other obligations the pegula’s have. Hire someone with sports management/ marketing experience to run the team. And then find someone to work with botts, if that’s Ralph fine, if that’s a Shero/ Gillis, type, thats fine too...

The bottom line is the successful teams seem to have a LOT of experienced people in A place to help the organization succeed.

We have the owners wife, pulled between the NFL, development, kids and other ventures. Botts and Sexton. Sexton being the guy with the most experience in a front office.

Hire the right people to do the right things. Hire hockey people to do hockey things. This team needs A structural change... nothing will change until that happens...

- Gr8daygo

This is the problem i have with your “fix”
Shero, who u suggest, was just fired for being a FAILURE in Jersey

Is he gonna be a success if he comes here & Cozens develops into the 2C we need?

Maybe he can come here & re-hire Bylsma?
A move that led to him also getting fired in Pitt

Just bc a guy has EXPERIENCE FAILING,
doesn’t mean he can FIX things here

That's just some bad thinking. He's breaking scoring records. If anyone thinks Rasmus Dahlin is the reason the Sabres are bad, you don't watch very much hockey. You would also be the person to trade Hedman after his second year and watch him become a superstar elsewhere. How many defenseman come close to what he did at 18? The answer, 0. He's going to be a star. Larkin would be great, but not at the expense of Dahlin and the Redwings would be getting the league on the phone before our GM hung up the phone to not let him reconsider if it was ever offered.
