The NHL is the only league with fully guaranteed contracts. This is the result. It's not a GM/management issue, it's a CBA issue. We wanted parity and the ability for small markets like Buffalo to compete. This is the cost of that.

IMO if you have fully guaranteed contracts their shouldn't be any NTC or 10 team lists etc.

There are 174 trade clauses (modified, no trade, no movement) for an average of 5.6 per team.

As we all know, it's a mix of some good names and some really poopty names

So on average a GM has the option to trade for 17.3/23 of the players on a given roster, or 75% of a roster without encountering a trade clause.

I don’t have an issue with list or NMC. I have an issue with handing them out like bubblegum.

Or have it like Baseball. Where you only get a say in where you go after X amount of years or games played (IE Full years of service).

SO if you go up and are sent down (Mitts) you only accrue the time you were in the NHL not the AHL.

Each time after you play or are in the NHL for 82 games (Including time on IR) you gain a year of service.

3 years in league - 3 team list
5 Years - 5 Team list
8 years - 10 team list
10 years - Full NTC

It’s up to him at this point. I definitely fell for the small sample size dominance of the WJC. His ceiling is not going to be as high as it once was as a high end 2C but he definitely has top 6 skill if he figures his poop out and takes this seriously.

I just dropped by to say GMTM services are missed, let's trade Dahlin for a guy who's playing in a number one center role with 9 more points on the season in 11 more games (as well as a huge ice time disparity), and I'm also a fictional character that played no real part in the saga anyways but seems to be correct. I'm also happy to be here.

yeah.. we had a treasure trove of picks to do that.. they should have done the patient thing with the previous putz not this one.. problem being he was drafting players like karabaceck and didn't know what he was doing.. now we have the new putz and have no clue if he can draft either...

I don't know, but with all the picks we did have even throwing darts at a board he could have hit on a couple of them.

And I still wouldn't consider trading Dahlin for him unless it came with their unprotected first this year (which they wouldn't do.) Dahlin is going to hit 40 points for the second time as a teen in a sheltered role and missed time. The skys the limit for him.
