Agree! It will probably be an off-season move though...

1) Lotto protected 1 + mitts for the 2c or 2RW

2) d man (+ if needed) for the other Sam ($2.6 in celery) center/ wing - flames have 2 hurt d man.

3) d man (+ if needed) for Anderson ($1.8 rfa) Rw.

4) something for the disgruntled Finn.

Now if it were only that easy....

8-9-4 with a .897 or something. That's awful.

But Ullmark's save percentage was better than league average and he was only 16-14-3. The discrepancy between an above average sv% and a below average w/l record indicates to me that the problem was elsewhere

Sure, however most teams that defend as well as Buffalo have a SV% of .920+. So Ullmark is slightly below average and Hutton is god awful.

The Sabres are built to win the 2-1 game but don’t get the saves that Columbus and Dallas goalies are able to make. Now expecting Ullmark/Hutton to be Ben Bishop is a pipe dream but who the frank knew who Korpisalo and Elvis Merzelkins were a few months ago ?

No team is going to trade them any player worth a first rounder at the deadline unless he's a rental, which the Sabres are in no position to take on. If they're going to go that route, the trade won't happen until the offseason.

My problem with Ullmark is that he should be playing in 35 games all year, not 35 by February.

He can still definitely improve though but as of right now he’s a below average starter or an above average back up depending on one’s perception.

My problem with Ullmark is that he should be playing in 35 games all year, not 35 by February.

He can still definitely improve though but as of right now he’s a below average starter or an above average back up depending on one’s perception.

If you really want a good #2 center that can actually produce, you trade that pick with NO restrictions before the draft, you may be able to get 2 pieces for that pick and I am all for it.

If you don't like expected goals as a stat, that's fine. Okposo's xgf is 4.4 at 5v5, he has 4.
