No, I do not.
I'd trade him, if we can get anything of value.
Unless he's tucking dahlin and pilut in bed at night, reading them bedtime stories. - Boss34
I think you could get something for him to, I mean Zucker is younger, but if you look at points per year, Mojo has almost the same stats. Not a first, but maybe a decent prospect and pick |

I wouldnt be upset if they did trade him but id also be happy him playing with Skinner and a real center. I like his two way play that could allow center and Skinner to get on the board from time to time. - hubie
I realize they dont have a center, but 13.5 million for 18 goals combined is why we suck.
Lines 2/3 middle 6 getting paid ,but doing zero.
A 2c would help, probably at 7 million.
So 20 million for the 2nd line is too much in my opinion. |

Im not so worried about the money on the second line since Skinner is there no matter how you slice it the line will be near 20.
Figure all the money from Sheary,Vessey,Frolik coming off the books you can really use that money on more useful players. |

People don't like Mojo because he's been stuck playing a position he is not comfortable with.
Ralph specifically stated this morning that they are going to keep him on the wing if they can help it. He plays much, much better there. |

We have 1 good right hand shot, 1 good left hand shot, and our only good net front guy is a defenseman. When anyone gets hurt, it's a mess. - Lunaion
That's why I'm surprised that the pro sam guys want to give him 7 or 8 for 7 or 8?
Doesnt move the needle. I'm assuming Sam's not one the guys with a good shot? Or speed? Or leadership?
Sam has played some really strong hockey since, he gave up. Maybe needed Harrington to get him going.
Doubt we see another lack of effort play this year.
Probably next 7 or 8 years is different, when/if he gets paid

If they could find that 2C I would think Mojo would fit nicely on the 2nd line. |

Zucker has some term left? 3 years? For pretty cheap?

11 came in the 16 games before Sobotka got hurt. 7 in almost 40 games without him. Just saying. |

Yes you are right 3yrs 5.6mill, but Mojo has 1yr left at 1mill less, so he's not a rental either.

I think you have to do both. I’m tired of futures. If you can add a couple pieces to help now, while cleaning some cap. That has to be the approach.
Anderson could be that Beast 3RW. 6’3”. 191. 25 and an rfa.
The disgruntled Finn 6’4” 193. 21.... the ultimate boom or bust.
Puts: Samson, Big Finn and Anderson on the right.
Puts: Skinner, Olo, mojo on the left...
And I bring bjustead up just to piss people off.
Would still need to fix the center. But could Bennett hold a 2c spot for a year? See if it clicks?
Jack, Bennett... Larry? ... Lazar? ...Asplund? - Gr8daygo
Bjugstad does blow, so scratch that
Bennet might be an interesting flyer,
but he’s been playing on the wing in Calgary for a few years now |

Sam's shot has improved significantly, but if Jack got hurt, I don't think he fills in his PP spot very well. His shot went from pitiful to average. He does seem to play better when he's a little pissed off.
He's likely to get overpaid, and that's going to sting. This team should not have the short term and long term cap issues that it does.

Sam would be a 40 point guy tops without eichel
Where are all the leon is good because of McDavid?
4 points in 2 games without mcdavid.
Nice to see sam pissed? That's what I do not understand, soft emotionless effort. He knows it's a contract year. |

Vogl:
Sabres’ lines with Marcus Johansson absent for maintenance:
Olofsson-Eichel-Reinhart
Skinner-Rodrigues-Wilson/Frolik
Vesey-Lazar-Sheary
Girgensons-Larsson-Okposo
- adambuffalo
Honest assessment of lines
Old rookie- League MVP- guy that organization says can drive own line but never gets to
$9 million prodigal son- Bum that requested trade- $4 million in season forward help that isn't as good as Scott Wilson/ Scott Wilson
Guy that didn't want to be here before but had no choice this time- Former 1st Rd castoff- guy Penguins let us to take so they could get rid of Hunwick
Somehow still Girgensons- and Larsson- serviceable $6 million 4th liner
Injuries - friendlier swedish Leino that to the best of our knowledge doesn't own a clothing line (day to day) |

Leon is a star on any roster
Sam is just the same as about 100 different guys in the league, some just have better places. |

Honestly, for the 100th time, it's not even that. Leon benefits from playing with or behind McDavid. Period. That doesn't mean he's not a legit star in his own right. We don't think anything less of all Stevie Y because he played with Federov, or LeCaviler because of St. Louis. The thing for me is, we picked Sam, and he plays for the Sabres. I don't care what another guy in the other conference is doing. If Sam was playing like a 3rd rounder, that's a huge problem. He'd still be taken in the top 5/10 in his draft class. Do we all want more? Sure. female doging about the guys that actually perform what amounts to a decent first line winger isn't a hill I'm going to die on because he isn't the statistical #2 center in the league. |

We all knew who he was when he signed here. Had Jeff and Mojo been playing with an actual top 6 center this entire season, I'd bet my house they'd have better production. The past few years he's been a half pt per game guy. He's been no different this year. He's far from the worst thing happening to that middle 6. |

Sam is ranked 43rd OA in offense. Considering every team has 3 first line players (or 2 or 4), that's probably around 90-100 guys playing or able to play on the first line.
So by points alone, he is literally an average 1st line player.
This is not a Sam bashing post, as I appreciate his presence on this team. Just thought I'd give Boss a little nudge today. |

That's my point. It's like if he's not top 10 in scoring, BUUUUUSTUSTUSTUST. He is what he is, an average 1st line player. I hope we keep him long term at a reasonable rate. |

For the 100th time ,
Sam is not a star.
Leon is a star
Sabres picked sam 1 pick before leon.
Fans could and should be upset - still
Also:
Do we really know if sam could put up 1st round stats without eichel? No we dont know that.
You can proudly wear your reinhart Jersey to the games, good for you to look the other way. The lack of effort shows what kind of guy he is. Sure, 1 play and all that bs.
We have really soft team that's way to easy to play against. Sam is the poster boy for this.
Super soft non intense player who is a big part of this franchises failures since he was drafted , you know right before the other guy in the other conference.
It's not working with sam as a sabre. And sure it's not working with eichel either.
Big difference , superstar and guy that hangs around the superstar

Ok he’s listed as a center on NHL.com but we all know he’s a right winger. He’s the 10th highest scoring right winger in the league right now and
19th highest scoring winger overall or 10th out of 31 or 19th out of 62.
That’s above average. Just throwing out maybe a different way of looking at it. |

Sam did all the work again last night again right?
Secondary assist where he really played 0 part of the scoring play.
And a goal that was laying on the goal line, half in.
But, 2 points right?
You think eichel could possibly have anything to do with his statistics? |
