I'd love to see an organized no-show game. Do we have any national games left? Sub-3000 attendance for a national game would get more attention than 30 people with signs - jcragcrumple
Were any of them funny though? |

I’m surprised none of the ppl from here went to the protests
You guys b!tch on here constantly for nothing,
but u actually missed out on a chance to show exactly how mad u really are
20ish ppl showing up is a joke
If 3,000 would’ve show up,
that would be a top story all around the US & Canada
U guys blew your chance to be “heard” - jdfitz77

THESE PRETZELS ARE MAKING ME THIRSTY
Anger might be a short term problem for an organization, but apathy is much more dangerous for them. When people stop showing up, that's more likely to get results. |

Our scrumbag failure of a RW; Samson Reinhart, playing at 0.82 PPG is currently 14th in the league in that category for players who have 25+ games played...projecting to 67 pts over 82 games.
This scumbag is having a season:
- eerily similar to David Pastrnak's 70 pt. season when he signed his current 6 year contract at 8.9% of the then current Cap Ceiling
- 10% better than William Nylander's 61 pt. season when he signed his current 6 year contract at 8.8% of the then current Cap Ceiling.
At 8.85% of say $83.0m of next season Cap Ceiling, Sam would be due a contract of $7.35m...all things being equal. They're not:
-Sam is Arb Elligible (see ERod for potential impact of player taking team to it), team won't due it nor want it, Sam has more leverage here
-A 6 year contract term will include 3 years of UFA status, which inflate the AVV for said contract.
* what is an reasonable uplift ? $1.0m more for each of those 3 years?...$3m / 6 years = ~$0.5m per year?
Reasonable to assume $7.35 - $7.85 over 6 years. |

If you didnt bring something up, we wouldnt be talking about it? Well yeah, of course.
All of this is irrelevant. You love to mention how picking Sam Reinhart set the organization back years. He's tied in goals and 5 points behind a guy taken in the same position. Reinhart had more points than that guy last year.
So either selecting Laine set the jets back years, or sam Reinhart is better than you give him credit for. - jcragcrumple
No not selecting Draisatil did. Leon would have been the 2C. |

If Botts has half a brain, he should literally be working around the clock with ~6 teams in the Western Conf currently all fighting for the WC positions; virtually all of them sans SJS, Ana, LAK.
He should be selling "arms" to as many teams as possible Mojo, Miller, Vezey, Sheary, McCabe to create more competition to drive higher demand. They can hold 3 Salaries...do it.

Maybe. He's not a full time center either. He probably would have a very similar stat line to Reinhart if he were here |

What about... Drury AND Briere brought back to be Co-Presidents of Hockey Ops??
Drury is AGM for Rangers
Briere is running Philly’s ECHL team in Maine
Do they have enough “management” experience?
Idk...
but idk how much Sakic or Shanahan had either? |

Two pages ago-
“We could’ve used that cap space on other wingers and a 2C”
Now -
“We could’ve used that cap space on a goalie and a 3C”.
You. Say. Everything.
Also, the Islanders lost John Tavares, a center, the most important position of all time, and got better. There are tons of different variables, from goaltending, to defense, to special teams, to staying healthy, to coaching. It all matters one year, doesn’t matter the next year, and around and around we go.
Did you know most Jack Adams winners were coaches on teams with unsustainable Save%? And that most were fired within a few years of winning the Jack Adams? Point is things change from year to year.
One of the only constants over the past 8 years is the Sabres have had very few good players. So any argument that starts with letting a good one walk for nothing is a weak, and wrong argument - sbroads24
Spending $9M dollar’s on an average winger is the wrong move.
Mojo would be in Skinner’s spot right now. The $9M if spent down the middle and on goal would have us in a playoff spot right now.
I don’t know what else to tell you.
The Sabres have been getting caved in the last two weeks yet still allow the 8th least HDCA in the league.
The Pittsburgh Penguins give up the 5th least, and the Blue Jackets have rocketed up to 2nd.
“This isn’t Pittsburgh anymore” yet stylistically speaking we are very similar. Tristan Jarry is making more saves then Ullmark. Murray is making more saves than Hutton.
We have Eichel and Dahlin
They have Crosby, Malkin, Letang.
We are missing a top end 2C and a 1A/1B goalie (Every single poster on this website and their grandmothers know this).
You like Skinner, I think we could of used that cap space more accordingly to pay for the positions I think are more important to the success of the roster. I don’t see a difference between a guy like Thomas Tatar and Skinner. Only one could probably be had for half the salary and pay for the goalie that we need, or the cap space the 2C will require, or the cap space for another average winger that will produce great numbers with a good Center |

Well then the big ? Is would we be a better hockey team with 2 more players producing at a 50 60 point range, then 1 player who isn't doing poop right know. |

Nothing because you’ve gone in every different direction possible.
You think Skinner is average. You also think that a team who’s acquired guys like Sheary and Vesey can “easily” replace a guy who’s averaged 30 goals per season over an 8 year career.
