I'd run with Dahlin, Jokiharju, Pilut, Miller, Gilmour, and Borgen as 6 and look to add one more in FA.

Its too bad the old SSTT is on the shelf. You gotta figure Sabres would be able to pry away Kyrou and get ROR back for him.
- Hatboro_Swords

The old SSTT hopefully becomes an amazing player. He’ll almost certainly be given a top 9 spot next year.

He just wants north of $5 per if I remember the post correctly.
- Gr8daygo

Word is he's team is asking for over 5 a year, he hasn't come out with it publicly. That's what i said/

Perhaps, but with JBo turning 37 before next season they could be looking for his replacement instead of resigning him. Also, they could have interest in a guy like Johansson who they saw in the finals last year.
It's not like Kyrou has lit it up yet. In 31 NHL games this year and last year he has 3g and 4a.
Heck, I'd even ask for Allen in exchange for Hutton. Hutton led the league in GAA and SV% his last year in St Louis and is a lot more affordable for a backup rather than paying Allen another year to play 20-25 games ($1.6m cheaper).

- adambuffalo

I’m pretty much open change on this team. I just don’t wanna see JB bring everyone back and tell us what a great game they had against the Rangers in February that one time.

Botterill needs to make a Kassian for Hodgson type of trade at the deadline.

Not one that had as little impact as it did, but one that excited the fan base like that one did.

Is it?
I wonder what looks better for Line2
(Assuming line1 stays the same)

Skinner-Byfield-Cozens/Mitts
OR
Skinner-Cozens/Mitts-Lafreniere

I guess it just depends on whether or not u still have faith in Cozens or Mitts

- jdfitz77

In my mind, absolutely yes it is better.
Let Mitts, Cozens and Byfield fight out 2C & 3C, loser goes to W.
Cozens would make a great RW in my mind if Byfield locked 2C down
C's normally transition much, much better to Wing than W to C.
When it is time to resign Miits, Cozens and Byfield to contracts too rich for 3C, trade them.

Why Hammond? Is Hutton sick or injured?

Edit- saw that Pilut was called up as well.

Wonder what the analytics guys say about his comparables and actual value.

He’s at $3.3 now... and he’s worth a raise off of that. But over $5!

I don’t think he was put in the best spot this year. And he may be redundant with risto and joker both on the right.

It’s certainly an interesting spot for botts! Botts is going to have to commit in some way... Samson is going to get paid. Dahlin and joker aren’t far behind and there is the expansion draft to start thinking about...

Botts better be ready to finally shape this roster longer term...

I heard the other day the talk was over 5 a year, he's not worth that IMO, he would be good trade bait. I would keep him over McCabe, that would make a better chip.

Rob Ray just said that Paul Gaustad was a player you could count on, REALLY ? he's stared into space when Drury and Miller got blasted.
