Fat HEadz- unfortunately the 45 min wait and a 4 year old didnt work so we went down the street to a small lil restaurant.

That's pretty much what Botterill did on the radio though. He said guys have more to give and they're not hitting their averages. He didn't want to shoulder any of the heat so he passed it along to the players and the coach's line combinations
- jcragcrumple

What's the problem with putting a little heat on the players?

It's always Botterill sucks. Ralph sucks. They don't lace em up.

If Conor Sheary isn't playing in Buffalo, he's playing for someone else in the NHL. Fact.

We don't have a single draft where it was 100% useless. However, 2010 and 11 was extremely close.

With the NJ example, just wanted to demonstrate there are teams who are much worse off with their 1st round. I feel like, before I looked at all the teams in the league from 10-16, the Sabres would be in the upper echelon of drafting in the 1st round. The opposite would certainly be true for post 1st round.

14 15 16 were all very bad

I haven't heard him put any heat on himself since he fired Housley and said "I didnt give him the proper roster or put enough of the right pieces on the ice."

And then did it again. And now he's blaming the players.

He's playing chess against the rest of the league and blaming his pawns because he's losing

I did hear that. It's Botterill's job (and Krueger's to an extent) to ensure the players are put into position to succeed.

When your C position is a franchise center followed by a bunch of old potatoes and mushy pumpkins, you need to take a (frank)ing look in the mirror and say, "I overestimated the organizational depth and it's on me to fix it."

However, Jason Botterill is not Jimmy Vesey, Conor Sheary, Marcus Johansson or Evan Rodrigues. These players need to perform. Not having the tools is an absolute detriment, but the blame is not solely on one entity or the other. To varying degrees, it's the GM, the coach and the player.

Damn. Yeah I shoulda warned you about the wait. Typically we pull up a seat at the bar and wait it out or wander around outside. But yeah, there's always at least 15-1 hr wait there.

My hindsight is perfect

I'm losing faith that Jason will do it right this summer. But tensions are extremely high in that front office, and there's a real chance Jason doesn't see the draft.

A buddy of mine says the pegulas are pissed. He was affraid to use a sick day, worried about being canned.
Everyone is looking over their shoulder, not just botts.

The pegulas don't care, isnt accurate.

I would be more worried if they were not upset. I would hope that missing a day of work wouldn't cost someone their jobs.

I think the fan base needs to hear from them in some capacity, and sooner than later. Going through Botterill isn't going to gain anything.

I dont see a distinction there, as the GM picked the other other two parts of that equation

Haven't a good portion of the players fallin below their career averages?

Erod
Skinner
Johansson
Vesey
Hutton

Is this botts fault or the players fault? A little of both?

Id trade Dahlin for a CERTAIN upper end 2C. Like I said before, desperate times call for desperate measures. We are desperate. If a deal could be made for Larkin, Id do it. Theres your Crosby/Malkin for the next decade.

There aren't many players Id trade Dahlin for, but Larkin is one.

- ThundernLightning

Well that would be dumb. But you're right, it's much harder to find a 2nd line center than a top pairing defensemen.

Seth Jones injured and on ir

Maybe they want a defenseman?

Especially after last season, they went for it all. Not worried about ufas?

Montour ? McCabe?

Vesey's career points per game before this year (last 3) was .37

This year, it's .34

So pro rating for that discrepancy would give him 19.6 points this year over 53 games instead of the 18 he actually has

Who CARES?!

No one part of the organization wins without the other PARTS doing their jobs!

There are multiple parts of this organization not doing their jobs properly, not just the one you like to put 100% of the blame squarely on.

I kinda meant the goal totals that everyone easily plugged him into pommers totals.

16, 17 ,17 thru 3 years.

4 points -the eichel effect 2 goals and 2 assists over the last 3 games.

Not saying it isnt botts fault for bringing in these players , but players need to take some blame too. Probably coaching as well.

Since I called you out on resigning vesey, he has put together a strong effort the past 3 games.

Eichel effect , but working hard and very noticeable

Now you're not being fair.

Of course he picked them. But it's not solely the teacher's fault if you did bad on a test.
