That's it.
Point out obvious issues while winning and you're a whiner.
Point out obvious issues while losing and you're a realist who is proclaiming justified concern.
I don't think that country club attitude is totally dead yet. Hope JB continues to bring in players who will change/challenge that. - bloatedmosquito
Everybody has different ideas about how the team should play.
They aren't going to play a tough team every night. When it does arise, we as fans aren't seeing certain players step up to the challenge.
I think it's got to do with the line up and the lack of experience and a bit of the country club that's still around.
Jim's got a tough job. All GM's do and coaches. Explains why their shelf life is so short.
Some things are absolutely justified in whining about and others that are probably a bit outlandish.
Most of us know each other personality and opinions by now. Who cares what a person says after a win or loss. We know where most of the posters stand . - VANTEL
Passionate hockey fans, don't know what I'd do without hockey.
Look at the Boston game last night - Lauzon lays a head shot to Stepan - gets a major/match penalty and suspended 2 games.
Crouse comes back does the same thing to McAvoy gets 2 mins - Boston did nothing to retaliate or protect their stars afterwards - teams still taking runs at them - they retaliated by scoring two PPG on the next two Coyote minor penalties and won the game tho. - Brooks_Light
There is a massive difference between Vancouver and Boston, I wish our team had half the balls Boston plays with.
Vancouver has skill, lacks toughness, both are need.
I said straight up I’m not happy about the last few games - ya Didn’t catch that? It’s the end of days part that I’m pumping the brakes on. - Brooks_Light
People are offering up a solution to why they aren't happy about the last few games and you are calling them cry babies.

We are not saying end of days, just questioning the grit on this team.

Boston had the experience and personnel to be tough when they need to and then lock it down after. Hence Lauzon delivering a dirty but big hit and when the opportunity arouse scored 2 PP goals.
Van at times were probably doing something similar earlier in the year when the game was not meaning as much. They just need to find that identity and swagger back. They need a brutal dog fight win, where they have gone to the trenches and come out standing tall.
They have been beaten and batter in a lot of wins this season.

I wonder if things like the #metoo movement amongst players and lawsuit settlements like Crawford/Bertuzzi/Moore has made coaches think twice about pushing players to be tougher/more aggressive?

I said it yesterday this is pretty therapeutic for most on here. - VANTEL
If you were on this team and could get a standing ovation for responding to a cheap shot on petey would you? I certainly would and it would get the team fired up. Who cares how big you are just get in there.

Like Vantel said JB brought in personnel to be tough/gritty, it hasn't panned out. A chink in the armor has been exposed to the other teams in the league. Ferland is toast, if he does come back it won't be for long.

Especially in the playoffs when the game changes and the refs become more lenient. - bloatedmosquito
Vancouver fan base can't handle those type of players. They want players to be tough but within the rules of the game as some other team takes out their star players with elbows to the head or knee on knee.
We ran Matte Cooke out of town . There is a good part of the fan base that doesn't like
Burrows doesn't want Kane .

I'd guess maybe a little but I think there are still ways that don't involve beating your players to get them do what they are asked of them without it being excessive.
New blog is up, with a few thoughts on how their recent Battle of Alberta adventures may have moved the Calgary Flames ahead of the Canucks in term of the mental toughness needed to succeed as the going gets tougher at this time of year.

Adding grit that can't play hockey like Lucic helps the team out a few times a year. It's just not worth it for 6 million a year.
Ferland can still play hockey. He doesn't need to fight or kill people with hits.
Ryan O'Reilly has 15 hits in 56 games this season. Drais has 22 hits in 55 games.
Not always about hitting. Being strong on pucks. Leaning on players.
The players brought in haven't been as expected and I think that's where something does need to be changed and give someone else a chance to do what they wanted out of those players but with more upside.
