Capitals are arguably the most physical squad in the Metro, so I can kinda see where Trotz is going with this. - Wildschwein
As can I but I'd still prefer bellows over the boss |

Yep, I see the logic, too. On the other hand, trying to go blow for blow with them might, as Trotz said, "wake the dragon," so I also see the logic in steering clear of "sending messages" physically and just making it a boring game for Washington. |

Well it won’t help us get home ice but Columbus stumbling a bit will help our cause. |

Yeah, it's a tough call. The priority is obviously to win the game, but you also don't want to risk serious injuries by having Wilson and Gudas taking liberties. I don't think Viznovsky ever played another NHL game after that hit in the playoffs by Wilson. If Johnston isn't going to play against Wilson and Gudas, what's the point of having him on the roster? Unfortunately, the refs have proven this season that they're not going to protect Islander players by calling penalties. |

Every point they drop helps. They're up 1pt on us but we have 3 games in hand. I'll take a Guentzel-less Penguins 10 times out of 10 over having to play the Bruins. Making the playoffs is great, but I don't want to sit in one of those wildcard spots if we can avoid it. |

This is a moot point, if gudas or Wilson hurt a guy then they are going to fight after that and it's already done. If I'm wilson and I kill a guy and get punched a few times what do I care? |

If you extrapolate my numbers, then yes. 1,000,000 times out of 1,000,000 as well |

I think Dal Colle has been playing pretty well lately. He had points in three straight going into the Tampa game, he works his bag off out there, and he's pretty solid defensively. He's not particularly talented and is clearly never going to be a big producer of offense, but I think he brings something to the table. |

Do you honestly think having Johnston in the line up is going to prevent those two from doing anything? Martin isn’t adequate enough even if you do believe that? If those two want to nail someone they’re going to do it no matter who is in the lineup. They’re not scared of having some 5 second, half assed wrestling match with Johnston that’ll be broken up by the refs in seconds for retribution. I mean really think about that. |

Exactly. Beat me to it. Johnston isn’t preventing either player from doing anything if he wants too he’ll do it. Period. |

It's not a big deal, really. He's kind of a tweener that's too good for junior but is still young and might not be mature enough for pro hockey yet. Doesn't exactly bode (pun intended) well for his value as a trade asset, but I don't think it's indicative of any major issues in his development.
edit: Wonder if that doesn't mean Hickey is coming back from injury? Maybe it's just a numbers thing |
