I’m not debating whether coaches do it or not or what their logic is I’m just pointing out that particular thought process is dated and rarely applies to today’s NHL. I wish that aspect of the game still existed and happened more regularly rather than maybe a couple times a year though the entire nhl. - Cptmjl
If that was the case then no coaches would do it and that's not the case clearly. Just because it doesn't happen as frequent as in the past doesn't mean its not needed at all in today's game. We'll never agree on this because this debate comes up a couple of times every year Get the two points and we'll discuss further tomorrow |

#Isles' arena deal with the state includes a "non-relocation" agreement intended to keep the team at Belmont Park for 25 years
Speaking of which:

Kind of like the 25 year iron clad agreement with BK? - Vukota

I read the agreement. It's fairly ironclad.

Bode Wilde heads back to a Saginaw team in first place in the OHL West division with a chance for a long playoff run.
#Isles take a contract off the books, now at 48 of 50 -- room to add with two weeks until the trade deadline. |

I’m all for players that tear it up out there. I’m not a fan of today’s nhl in all honesty but no matter how you slice it these guys can’t be one dimensional anymore. I get you can’t have great players through the line up but I don’t see a place for Johnston especially him potentially replacing someone who can score. Just my opinion agree to disagree like you said. Like I said he’ll score tonight you’re welcome. - Cptmjl
I would agree if he played every night but I think in games like this you can justify playing him. Again not a fan of sitting Bellows I would have chosen Leo to sit or I would have sat eberle for that hideous D coverage on the Lightning second goal saturday night |

Not getting my hopes up, but I am very curious what they could actually afford to do at the deadline. I think the prices on guys like Pageau and Toffoli are going to be sky-high with all the buyers out there and a pretty severe lack of talent. |

I know was just joking. But with all jokes aside, my preference of targets are as follows; Kase, LaBlanc, Anthanisou which I think could be obtainable for cheaper assets then the other high priced names being floated around |

I'm 100% with you on the first two. I don't think Athanasiou has too much attention to detail on the defensive side of the puck and I don't think the Isles are going to have a big desire for him. Real good player for sure, but just don't see him fitting here. I like the other two a lot.
I think Kase would be a real good buy-low option, plus he's signed cheap next season and has 3 more years of team control.
I've made my feelings on Labanc known, but more or less the same situation as Kase. |

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Blue Jackets defenseman Seth Jones is facing surgery after suffering a fractured and sprained right ankle in a 2-1 loss to Colorado on Saturday.
General manager Jarmo Kekalainen said Jones will have further testing before his surgery is scheduled.
“He’s out for a while,” Kekalainen told The Athletic on Monday.

If Lou goes a 3rd straight year without making a deadline deal, can I just call him a low energy GM? |
