No worries.
We will just trade all our crap for other teams stars, sign a 35 year old fat whiner and fill all our glaring holes. Other teams will be only too happy to help us out. And the salary cap be damned!!
We need to be a top team NOW damn it!!!!!!! Enough of this taking 1.67 seasons to restock our system and build our roster back up!!!!!! WTF? We only contended for the Cup for like 6 years in a row!!!! WE need 2 Go FOR it. NOW!!!!
Is that the way you do it? IDK, still to understandable isn't it? - Tonybere
Hey I’m all about selling for one more year. Keep what they think will be the core and sell off. Try a clear some cap with the teams willing to take cap by sending a few prospects with the bad contracts. Then build from that , make the 2020-2021 the year they start to push for playoffs |

I would love to see them retain all of our top prospects. And, I don't see anyone being interested in our other prospects, so...
I'd love to see them move Skjei, but I doubt it could be done without losing someone I don't want to lose. Perfect scenario for me would be for Gorts to move Strome and Smith somehow and use that extra ~$7M (minus money retained) to sign Kreider and ADA. |

Well Columbus just lost Seth Jones indefinitely. Depending on the severity, maybe they have interest in Skjei as a pure minute eater on the back end. He would probably excel in a tort's system to be honest. |

I think the Bruins loss to the Red Wings is going to make them panic
4 assets for Kreider
FOUR OF EM |

|
|
Scott Burnside:
New York Rangers
Status: Sellers
Projected Deadline Cap Space: $13.7 million
Notable UFAs: Chris Kreider, Jesper Fast, Greg McKegg
Notable RFAs: Brendan Lemieux, Ryan Strome, Phillip Di Giuseppe, Anthony DeAngelo, Alexandar Georgiev
Such an interesting time for Rangers GM Jeff Gorton as he tries to navigate the salary cap with an eye to a bevy of young talent that will need to be paid both now and in the coming years. The fact the Rangers have fallen back in the pack may actually make Gorton’s job at least a little less onerous. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t face tough decisions, like whether he can afford to keep Chris Kreider, who will likely command north of $7 million annually as an unrestricted free agent.
When factoring in the other issues, the simple answer appears to be no. Kreider is arguably the best pure rental available on the deadline market and, perhaps along with Ottawa’s J.G. Pageau (a center), might be attractive enough to bring home an unencumbered first-round pick. At the very least Kreider should command a conditional first-round pick. One of the reasons that Kreider, with whom the Rangers are just now discussing the merits of signing on long-term, may not fit long-term has been the emergence of skilled defenseman Tony DeAngelo as a first-rate offensive talent, and the restricted free agent will need to be paid handsomely. The Rangers could look at moving DeAngelo, but why? Similarly, RFAs Ryan Strome and Brendan Lemieux would appear to have more value in Ranger blue than trying to move them. Pavel Buchnevich has one more year left on his contract at $3.25 million and would be attractive as a top-six add for a contender if Gorton is looking to open up some roster and cap space. And then there’s the goaltending. Alexandar Georgiev has been for the most part excellent, but he’s already being pushed by top prospect Igor Shesterkin, while future Hall of Famer Henrik Lundqvist is caught in the middle with one more year left on his deal and unlikely to ask to be moved or conversely be asked to waive his no-trade/no-move clause. With Toronto acquiring Jack Campbell from Los Angeles, there’s not much of a deadline market for goaltenders; it would appear the Rangers are more likely to get a better haul for the restricted free agent netminder at the draft. |

if Georgiev has no trade value now, he'll have no trade value at the draft either
the whole point has always been Georgiev is a guy that could take over the #1 role for a contending team if their starter went down and he's still only making 792k
too many good goalies is not a good problem to have |

Yea once Toronto went for Campbell I lost any hope of moving Georgie. Also doesn't help his last few starts haven't been great and he plays once a month now |

Detroit needs a long term answer at goalie...Georgy is the perfect guy for them
Georgy for Athensiou should probably happen. They wanted a top 9 winger for him |

I predict he'll get traded to Detroit but it will be like for a 2nd and 3rd
they have extra picks, not their own 2nd and 3rds |

Do you think with what the market is looking like for goalies, and our need for cap space next year, maybe we package Georgy and Staal/Smith to a team like Chicago, who has plenty of cap space and two goalies that will be UFA at the end of the year. This assumes they talk to Hank and he says he's staying through next year. Gives us cap space to sign Kreider and ADA and Chicago gets a young, cost-controlled goalie, and they get Staal/Smith off the books in a year. |

I don't want this trade, only because that's another >$2M toward the cap that prevents us from signing ADA or Kreider. I'd rather have the picks or a prospect that earns about the same as Georgie (or anyone else we trade) until we get through next years cap hell. Because, to me the alternative is bringing in someone that will push out someone we have now and don't want to lose. |

Wolfpack brought up Jake Elmer from ECHL, he'd been kicking ass there, been the glue keeping Maine together |

A must win game! Handled! The lines can still use some tweaking. Need to get more from the bottom six.
Zib between Kreider & Buch is fine for now.
Chytil between Panarin and Kaako needs to happen
Strome between DiGuessppie and Lemieux would be quick line and that leaves
Howden between McKegg and Fast. All have speed, talent and bite or as Torts used to say, "Jam! We need more Jam!"
Skjei is disaster! When will it end? Cant we send him home to Minnesota?
A bag of pucks would be suffice. Would like to see Yegor Rykov come up and play a little to see what he's got.
Nice win from the Czar! Love the Igor Igor chants! Unfortunately for Hank he will be sitting a bit more but I don't was to hear about buying him out. Shows lack of respect and he deserves better. Need to move Georgiev asap. |

Shouldn't you be worried about how much of a bust Coleman is when you trade Ho-Sang for him? |
