MIN trades Jason Zucker to PIT for Alex Galchenyuk, 2020 first-round pick and Calen Addison. Zucker has three more years with an AAV of $5.5 million.

Would you have taken that package for Kreider? Or wanted more.

I wouldn't want Galchenyuk or a young defenseman ( we have enough! ) but the first and good young prospect is the template.

I think packages like this usually never replace the player we lost. One exception to that is the Nash trade but we also took a salary dump (Belesky) to get more. Give me Studnicka Beecher and Frederic and we have a deal. I don’t want a 1st that will end up in the mid 20’s that has less than a 50% chance of playing 100 NHL games. Give me prospects that have somewhat established what type of player they will be.

If we are trading Kreider to Bruins, then I want Debrusk and Beecher ---- Boston can keep their first. Not a big fan of Studs or Frederic in this scenario...

Why would Boston trade a 23 year old 20 goal scorer for a 28 year old 20 goal scorer. Kreider has a career high 28 goals (2x) Debrusk had 27 last year in his 2nd season last year (and he missed 14 games)

Boston's window is closing, they have several older players, looming cap problems for next year and this may be their last kick at the can. DeBrusk is a fine young player, but he's not as good as Kreider. There is also a belief that Kreiders speed game will make Krejci even better.
Think of it as when the Rangers traded Amonte in 1994. They didn't want to --- but they needed the players from Chicago to improve their chances for the Cup...

Hey, we’re going to make a run at the playoffs, let’s trade our 25 goal scorer for the Rangers 25 goal scorer that’s 5 years older. Oo, and let’s add a prospect.

I think if the Bruins and Rangers make a Kreider deal it will be based around a Beecher/1st rounder package

Pittsburgh making a deal last night could start a little arms race with the Eastern contenders

Capitals lost to Isles and have the Pens and Isles right on their tail

I could see Caps getting in on Kreider, he's also had some of his best playoff moments vs the Caps and I am sure they remember them

could they steal Connor McMichael from them?

Several reports say that Beecher is destined to be a star. I know the Bruins really need Krieder, but I just don't see it happening unless we send them Buch or something else in a bigger trade.
