Even if Buff was 7 years younger and in his prime I still wouldn't go near him

Probably about as often as Pionk racks up points against his former club.

Pionk has close to 40 points, pretty solid season

Several reports say that Beecher is destined to be a star. I know the Bruins really need Krieder, but I just don't see it happening unless we send them Buch or something else in a bigger trade.

I'm fine with that.

So, it might have been the Rangers system?

This trade should hopefully get things going with Krieder for you guys. I think the Penguins made a great deal. Addison is stuck behind Marino and I worry he tops out at a #3/4 which we have Marino and Petersson.

The bigger story is we get him for only $5.5M for the next few years. With how crazy contracts are, getting him for only $5.5M is huge for a cap team like ours.

Hoping you guys ship Kreider out west

56% of Pionk's zone starts for Winnipeg are in offensive zone

44% of them when he was with the Rangers were in offensive zone

he's being put into position to succeed in Winnipeg

I am going out on a limb and predicting we trade Kreider to Washington

Caps are over the cap. I looked at the trade scenarios the other day and it's hard to make it work, even with salary coming the other way.

McClellan has also said no more 1st rounders since the Shattenkirk debacle. He's only traded 3rd rounders the last 2 years so we'll see. There was just a big article on how they're building for the future after the core goes. McMichael is the centerpiece if that. Things can always change and every Caps fan wants Kreider because they know what he can do in the playoffs.

according to cap friendly they should have about 2 million in deadline cap space

if the Rangers traded them Kreider and kept half the cap hit they could make it work

We wouldn't get back much though. That Backstrom contract is I dunno kinda dumb and kicks in next season.

I dont know about that, I think Washington would be willing to give up a lot to try and for another long Cup run

they may also not want Tampa or Boston to be the team that gets Kreider

hard to say because Zucker is signed for a few more years

but it should definitely start an arms race and make Washington, Boston, Isles and Tampa respond

They don't want those teams to get him, but they also know there's about a 0% chance they could resign him. I'd rather deal with Tampa and Boston again, I know that people think that every trade with them hasn't been a winner, but it seems like we always do at worst OK when we deal with either of them in recent years.

I have no preference, best deal wins, I dont even care if it's the Islanders

and whoever they make the trade with, I want a first rounder and I want that team to lose in first two rounds

I'm going to give you a sleeper team for Krieds: Vegas. They have to be getting desperate after paying through the nose for Stone to make them contenders. We could take back someone like Reaves to make the salary work for this year, and they have enough expiring contracts to possibly resign Krieds. They also have a good farm system and I wonder if since they are really high on Glass if they would part with krebs. Even if both are untouchable, there are some guys that would be nice in our system.

I think we both agree we need to find a desperate team. Vegas might fit the bill
