Josh Allen is a stud but if cam newton got released I might trade him - gerbe75pts
He is completely washed. My buddy lives in Asheville and watches all their games. He can't run like he used to and his shoulder is made of minced hamburger |

am left to wonder if botts is making those moves to clear enough room for potential bonuses - Michael Pachla
Is the bonus deadline the same as the trade deadline?
Does he really think he won’t be able to upload one UFA to make that room? Or Is he just hedging his bets?!? |

Seems like that is one of his priorities, but the timing is a bit strange to me. Why not wait until closer to the TDL when you have a better idea of actual activity.

I'm not sure how it all works or how close they are to handing out bonuses but cap friendly has potential performance bonuses for Dahlin at $2.85M and Olofsson at $182,500...I believe how ever much they go over the cap this season comes off of next years cap...
if anyone can clarify it would be appreciated |

What are the Cap implications with Bogo being waived.
Assuming he is not picked-up by another team, do they just save the $1.04m related to sending the contract down to Roch, or is it more significant than that? |

Didn't think that mattered until the end of the season. |

Girgs and Larry have had a good season no doubt, but I think Lazar has made a good case to replace Larry, be a lower Cap hit and add some additional offense.
I still maintain one of the best moves for Botts is convincing Okposo to retire. They can limp along for 1 more season, but it would be great to have the additional cap space the following season. - IonSabres
If Okposo somehow vanishes, a 4th line of Girgensons - Larsson - Lazar would work well and not be expensive. |

I would take that as a 4th, tell you even Wilson has looked good with Larsson and Girgs, but think he is a UFA. Gotta find a way to get Okposo to hang them up. |

Yes, and Botts is deranged in trading for him, I don't care if it was for a 7th in a distant galaxy many lightyears from now. |

Botts will flip him for a 6th! Which is almost like the 4th he gave up for him. PROFIT! |

Noteworthy.. based on yesterdays discussion.

if a team picked up Bogosian on waivers would the 5.14 count against their cap or just the 1.3 or so of the daily cap hit remaining?

They’d be responsible for the prorated amount of his cap hit based on number of days remaining in the season. So roughly $1.38M. - TheSabresTaco
This is exactly why I say it's misrepresented. The question confuses daily (which is always expressed in annual form, 5.14m) and total cap hits (that no one looks at, sum of 5.14/days). It leads people to think that Bogo's daily cap hit, in the typical annual terms that everyone looks at on their site, is lower. It doesn't change.

I think, since the Cap is prorated leaving only $1.38m remaing, Sabres could have retained ~$700k...the reality is nobody wanted his music for only $700k hit for remainder of the season.
But we will hear in the summer how bad Bogo had it here this season and the fact the Sabres screwed him in a contract year.
