Fair assessment.
I don't want them to make a single deal based on chasing the 2020 playoffs.
We still need to be thinking big picture. - Tonybere
It's really the bottom 6 that needs work. I'd be open to moving Georgie for a bottom 6, hard working, tempo player. But he'd have to have some term left on his contract, not for a rental. I'd also be willing to move a D prospect for a middle 6 type of player. Both of those moves assume that Kreider, Tony, Strome and Fast stay. But I would really hate for them to make a splash, and it doesn't seem like that's remotely going to happen.
I think it was Chiefs who mentioned Dylan Strome. What's the boards thoughts on that? I think that's a move that continues the rebuild, but also adds to the current core. |

I wonder if the rangers have even thought about being buyers. Maybe a lil to soon and see what happens in a week. Point being, they could maybe trade off a prospect or two - Slimtj100
I see that being more of a move we could make in the offseason though. Possibly in the preseason. |

This could be a trial balloon to see if the team could trade ADA. If Keane does well, the plot thickens for sure. |

I think its more he couldn't finish the game because of his shoulder injury and they are just bringing insurance in case he can't go tonight |

Keane was an AHL all star. If anyone was deserving to get called up next, it was him. |

Rykov plays left. If another LD gets hurt I'm sure he'd be next up |

I think they feel it's reasonable he might go out. If it was iffy, you'd just always have Smith who could spot a game at RD. |

Yea but Staal is still sick so they need Smith to replace Staal again potentially |

Could also be that someone else is down with the flu. This sort of thing never affects only one person on the team before it's over.
Early in the game last night I had the thought that Foxy might be battling it, too. He was only really good instead of out of this world! |

Wouldn't read into the Keane thing, ADA hurt his shoulder when he checked Fiala at the end of the game and Staal probably still has the squirts |

No doubt that's the case. Still doesn't really change the fact that if Keane does really well, all the sudden trading ADA at some point seems a bit more palatable. I'm honestly rooting for Keane. He seemed like a guy who would have been prime to be lost in the shuffle with all our top end prospects coming, but he's kicking down the door to his future. You just have to respect someone like that who won't be denied so to speak. |
