Absolutely! Some of these quieter picks are making some noise. They must be 3rd rounders... - Snots33_77
Funny enough, Hillis was in fact a 3rd round pick... he's top 10 in OHL scoring, with some very talented company...
It will be very interesting to see his game transition to the AHL next year! |

Oh no doubt, you know where I stand!
On a more positive note, Hillis had another fantastic game last night, incredible season he's putting together - obie
I'd love to see what we could get for Petry right now. A lot of injuries popping up all over the league. Could up the panic mode and that combined with a desperate GM......could be a massive haul. Same for Tatar. |

For sure it would be, just look at what Zucker brought back
Was reading an interview article with Thomas Harley earlier (yes I got a major hard on for that kid) anyway, he thought Habs we're taking him at 15th, he said the interview process with Montreal was the most interesting of them all and they made him feel like they really wanted him... not many people anticipated Caufield would still be available I guess
He said they asked him the weirdest questions:
"Would you rather be the best or just better than everyone else?"

In all reality, 66th overall is not really hidden, he should have went higher too, 2nd round at the very least... |

That's a question of mindset: The best would continually push himself, better than everyone else slacks when leading. |

"Would you rather be the best or just better than Detroit?"
Habs should be asking themselves this.

I'd settle for better than Flint, Michigan at this point. |

They should be asking Dallas what it's gonna take to pry him away |

They need to start some conversations with many teams with as many creative scenarios as possible to maximize returns.
I don't think MB is very creative tho. |

Man, quoting is busted right now..
Thing is, MB isn't horrible with trades... I'd almost say he's good. Signing Free Agents is awful, though. |

No denying that. I absolutely agree. They were pretty straight forward tho.....the Suzuki deal was a bit more of what i've been looking for. Hopefully more deals like that happen. |

Signing free agents and drafting/developing. You can't build a team that will remain competitive for years by just making trades. You need to be able to do all three. |

Hoping for the same...
Really, what good are good players in the 29-32 age range with less than 2 years left on contracts, playing on bottom feeding teams? |

I'm wondering if the Canadiens *do* overhaul management/coaching, if Gerard Gallant might be a viable replacement. I know he's not French, but when he was Assistant under Therrien, the special teams were decent, and he was popular with the players. They let him talk to Florida, who ended up hiring him. If they *have* to hire a French coach, I see Guy Boucher coming in, short term, because that seems to be his shelf life.
